| also quick question. what made me stop trying it out last time and is making
me confused this time is why images never load. It says the database is fully
updated and everything

Mmmh maybe run it in administrator and it can't save files there?
The default path for pics/pguide can't be change - which is a regression
to BrickStock, I must say, and I said it in Issues.

| I managed to finally get some images to load but unfortunately, I cant just type
something in the search bar I first have to manually select the category otherwise
it runs super slow and I don't get any images. so its a tradeoff I might
go with the search thing minus images for now since I do get a thumbnail when
I click on something

No no, it's almost instant for anything.
I mean, of course if you search "brick" in all categories he might try to download
20000 pictures.

It's a program, but the wrong one.
This guy installed BrickStock while it is BrickSTORE to install (this one is
modern, recent, free, open source).
You should try it to manage shop, collection, WLs...

BrickStore is fantastic, and I agree once you try it, you'll never go back.
My only gripe with it is, when searching for a part, it includes every part that
includes that keyword. So when searching for "2 x 3 plate", it will show me every
piece that is 2 x 3, instead of showing me the closest matching part first.

| so far my biggest irritation of it is i can't type 2x3 plate I have to type
2 x 3 plate (and even then it doesn't show unless I first select the plate
category)

In the Add item window? You can exclude like "- scala" and also sort by name,
it helps.
In the list itself you can search using "is" instead of "contains"...
