Hi,

at the moment I have new and used parts separated in different storage units,
so it is easy to pack them separately. In order to improve the workflow in my
store, it makes sense to store them in the same system, different trays of course.
This means, I would see if they are used or not, but here is my question:

How do you, the customer want things packed?
I personally would not like new and used in the same bag. How about you?

Thanks for your feedback

Definitely not in the same bag. If I order the same part/color combination in
both new and used, how am I to tell which is which if they are packed together?
I don't even store new and used parts together for fear of picking the wrong
one accidentally.

I would have them somewhere in my Akro Mills, but not in the same drawer. So
I would pick a new one from drawer 1 and a used one from drawer 2. I would just
then have to separately pack them. I think that works.

It definitely works, but there is always the possibility that you will pull from
the wrong drawer. Keeping new and used separate reduces the possibility that
they will get mixed up. But it is your store so organize your parts in the manner
that works best for you.

I've had a number of orders recently where new and used parts were all placed
in the same bag(s) together, so it was impossible to know what was new or used.
As these parts are all for my own use this didn't really bother me, but I
know that if I was a seller, I would have been really annoyed, as I couldn't
sell the parts as new. I've also had new parts stuck together; again this
didn't bother me, as they are for my own needs. But they are no technically
longer new when stuck together.

What does bother me though is sellers sending every. Single. Lot. In. A. Single.
Zip-lock. Bag. Hundreds of bags for hundreds of parts that could all have been
grouped together in a much better way, saving plastic and time (for them and
me!).

Understood.

In terms of bags, I have the same here. We pack all bricks, all plates etc. together,
so at least there is some kind of separation, but not every single lot in a single
bag.

We do pack with individual bags too if lot value&quantity justifies using a sealed
bag. We put same part / different color lots into the same bag if the bag is
big enough to fit all of them.

Pros for us,

- It's easier to double check the order after it's ready.
- Reduces the chances of missing parts
- We can arrange the placement of shiny / decorated parts so that they don't
get rubbed to each other..
- With the extra container bag (we use numbered bags from actual sets) movement
of the pieces in the final pack is nearly zero
- Gives the customer the sense of care (sure we do)

Cons for us
- It's costly
- It takes extra time to open and seal the small bags.

For the customer; No one complained for individual bags but we have lots of feedback
praising our packing.

That's for new parts, for used parts we do dump them in numbered bags and
label them as used with a sticker. Still, we bag tiles / figures / decorated
parts individually for used too.

*There is no way to formally submit this request but customer can send a message
before paying and request that individual bags not to be used for packing.

*: It would be nice if there existed options for the shop to setup which customer
chooses at the time of order. Like this packing option / gift packing or packing
batches individually etc...

We sold Used parts, but not anymore.

As we had less Used than New, we put them in a separate zip bag with a little
red dot sticker on it, and on the paper we put in the packaging with the order
number and so one, we indicated that zip bags with red stickers were dedicated
for Used items.

It seems everyone was happy with this.
If that can help?

Merci beaucoup.
We will work something out, but keep everything separate.

I do not store new and used parts anywhere near each other.
I would never pack new and used parts together in any way.
