| Hi all,
In case you need a break from BL and crave for real culture (and not bad movies
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1340513  ) here are some trivia about
the Muppets:
So, I recently found out that Fozzie Bear’s catchphrase in English is “Wocka
wocka!” (But I don’t understand if that’s supposed to mean something?)
In French, he says “Intellectuel!” (“Brainy!”)… which his jokes rarely are 
What does he say in your languages?
Prof Bunsen’s firstname is Walbec in French. Walbec Bunsen. Because “bec Bunsen”
(Bunsen beak) is the name for a Bunsen burner.
The Swinetrek is the Transporcherie (= trans-pigsty).
In the announcement for the Vetenerarian’s Hospital (les Muppets à l’hôpital),
it’s about an “orthopédiste à qui la médecine cassait les pieds.” Literally,
“an orthopedic surgeon whose feet the medecine broke” but actually “an orthopedic
surgeon that medicine bugged.”
There, I think those are really important things that everybody should know

I only knew that as it was a tie breaker question in a pub quiz, who could get
closest to when his first TV appearance was. Both teams assumed it was on Sesame
Street.
And apparently he wasn't actually a frog then, but just some stylized reptilian
creature.

A lot of things didn’t make it to France, especially the early things. Everything
has to be dubbed, so it’s expensive¹.
We also had “adaptations” or co-productions:
— Bits of Sesame Street were dubbed but the parts with Toccata (Big Bird) and
real people were French (French TV bought the concept and made its version).
— The scenes with Doc in Fraggle Rock were filmed with another actor² for the
French version (with the same puppet dog… but called Croquette (Kible), not Sprocket).
¹ No offense to other countries but I saw foreign TVs where one guy dubbed /
translated every characters in a movie / series, not even changing his voice.
Wouldn’t work here. Even cheap TV shows are voiced-overed by multiple actors.
² Michel Robin, from the Comédie française, who passed away at the end of 2020.

why they felt the need to switch it around just for a different language?

It's more of an obvious pun in English "an orthopedic surgeon that's
gone to the dogs" or gone to ruin. Auntie Google tells me the origin of the phrase
"gone to the dogs" is from ancient Chinese when dogs were not permitted inside
the city, who knew? So that's today's learning ticked off.
To celebrate the arrival of all 12 Lego Muppet CMFs I introduced my daughter
to the Elton John episode of the Muppet Show (season 2). A classic!

Oh yeah, I hadn’t even noticed
I guess why is because they couldn’t find a pun starting with Bunsen (firstnames
come first). And Honeydew is even worse / less French.

Yeah, in French, you need to know that an orthopedic surgeon’s specialty is bones
to get the pun.

The English name is also very literal, seeing as his head is the shape of a honeydew
melon.
