| I'm fairly new to BrickLink, so this could be my own lack of knowledge...
I've just received an order for an item which shows the price as a considerably
lower value than how it appears in the store. How can that happen?
And more importantly, how can I remedy the situation?
Thanks

Probably something to do with VAT.
Which country is the order from and what are the store & order prices?

How much is “considerably lower”?
Did you use bulk and/or tiered pricing?
| And more importantly, how can I remedy the situation?
Thanks

| It's a within UK sale, and no discounts enabled. Just one item, which appears
in my inventory at £12 (and likewise when I look at my shop front), but £6 in
the order.
(My previous UK sale all went through just fine, with none of this shenanighans.)

Might sound daft but double check the item ID.
I can see an in your shop at £12, but other similar item numbers at
£6 e.g
If it is definitely the same item, then I'm honestly not sure.
Have you issued any 50% off coupons? Although I'm pretty sure coupons have
their own entry on the order so you can clearly see it.

| Yeah, checked the ids - very carefully, since there's just one digit difference.
Even went back and checked with the seller in be certain.
And no, no coupons.

Is it lot ID# identical? (You can see this on the order detail page by hovering
over the item's image.) Is it possible you had two lots, one listed at £6
and the other at £12? Do you have any backups of your inventory before this order
was placed?

Weird: the lot id in the store doesn't match that in the store - nor does
it match match anything in my store at all!?!

Nope, just one record.

|
What do you mean by backup - actually, no matter, I obviously don't have
one.

Do you have your items set to Retain after they are sold? If not, you will no
longer be able to see the Lot ID you sold in your inventory.

Not sure what you mean. I haven't processed the order yet since I want to
get to the bottom of this (and my buyer is being very patient with me), and the
set is still present in my store (https://store.bricklink.com/SGSmyth?p=SGSmyth&itemID=289647297#/shop
to be precise).

If you don't Retain your items, they are automatically deleted from your
shop inventory when they are sold.
If you do Retain them, they will be moved to a Stockroom with a quantity of 0
when sold out. It's better to do this so you can keep track things like this.
You can manually delete the listing later when you're certain of your inventory.

I think peregrinator has got it.
You had the same item listed twice in your store... but one at £6 and one at
£12.
That would explain why you can not find the Lot ID now... as it's sold.

| Yes- sort of.
Going through my inventory in detail after those messages about lot numbers,
I noticed there should've been a different Bionicle set in the store,
which was priced at £6, and is now missing. I must've somehow given it the
wrong set number.
Thank you all for your help.
(Now kicking myself a lot. What an idiot.)

Don't be too hard on yourself... most of us have done something similar when
starting out selling. The trick is to make sure you don't do it again

That's actually normal - you only had one of the item, and it was sold. Unless
you set the item to "retain" - basically meaning stay in the inventory with a
quantity of zero - it would simply be deleted from the inventory when there is
none left.

one.
|
You can (and should) download your inventory from time to time. You can do this
by going to your inventory page - the link is at the bottom.
