Hello,

I'm new here and found bricklink to be an awesome way to source missing pieces
for my son's ebay lego sets I buy for him.

I just wanted to ask if there is a buying system in place?

For example;

- I have a parts list with all missing pieces item numbers.

- Place the item numbers into online shopping list on bricklink.

- Input search parameters like location and currency.

- Click search and then it divides the list and breaks it down by seller category
who has the most items to sell for the pieces you are looking to acquire, totalling
the complete list.

I think this feature would be super helpful.

Hope it makes sense.

Thanks!

Hi,

This system is already in place!

First of all, create a wanted list and add all the items you want to buy to the
list. You can add items by finding the catalog entry through the search, and
clicking add to wanted list.
You can go into the list and modify quantity, condition, colour etc.

Once you have all the parts you want, go into your wanted list and click Buy
All. you can then modify the country, currency and a few other things. Once you
are finished, the easiest and cheapest way is to click auto-buy, which will quickly
find as many of your items as possible while taking into account price, country
etc. If you wish you can skip this step and manually click through stores to
find the items you would like.

You can then pay for each order / ask for an invoice
Hope this helps!

You will have to do each one at a time. If you put a number in the search bar,
it should locate the part. From there on the part screen, click the link in
the middle "Add to my Wanted List". You can assign the part and then continue.

When you are first getting started, it's a little chonky, but as you start
to get a handle on the site and the workflows, it's setup pretty well. You
sound like you're in the same position that I was in when I started so there
are a number of pieces across different sets and such. As you continue your
journey months later, you won't have a big dump all at once which makes it
easier.

On the flip side as I didn't review the list of parts you added, if there
is a large amount from a single set, you can also do the wanted list of an entire
set in one shot. Just like a single part, if you search for the set number,
you can add the entire set to a wanted list (of which you can have many) and
when you are adding the set, you can remove and modify only to include the individual
parts that you need.

There are all kinds of tips and tricks here that you will find and if you have
questions, don't hesitate to ask or search the forum.

Oh wow! That is super helpful. Thank you. Yes. Most of the parts are from sets
which I purchased cheaply for my son on eBay. Being able to select the missing
parts from the set will certainly help eliminate the time it takes to source
each piece. I have no idea what the names of parts are just yet.. But it's
a learning process. My son is 4 so he's also learning as we go.

Thank you very much for your reply.
