I don't know much about NFTs but I don't think it's a good idea.
The main appeal of Lego is that it is a tangible medium and we already have digital
bricks.
Yes it would be a good way to bring new people to the marketplace but I don't
think they would be buying any parts.

Excuse the ignorance, what Newsletter Survey?

There is a link to a survey in the latest marketplace newsletter (which, I'm
guessing, is going out in batches)

Thanks. I'll keep an eye out.

Just my 2 cents, NFT are the most inane thing I've heard of these past couple
of years.

If you want to throw money away and pretend you own something, let me know, I
can create a custom Lego related blockchain NFT for you, just $299.95! Sale will
have to go through my store.

This question in particular is very... leading. Apparently everyone who knows
enough about NFTs owns some? I have read a lot about NFTs, and am wholly against
them. None of the provided answers allow for that perspective.

I 100% agree; they did not give an option for knowing about NFTs and not agreeing
with them (which honestly, I think would have more votes for compared to owners/fanatics
of NFTs). Many of us are familiar with NFTs and oppose them. There are certain
places where NFTs (and the technology related to it) is appropriate, but a children's
toy brand moving into NFTs? I was really, really surprised by the focus of it
in the survey.

This seems fairly standard for a lego survey. They know the answers they want
but need the data to prove they are right.

100% agree. I know enough about them to know that I would never want them and
to see this question in the survey that they are even thinking about something
like this give me a twitch.

That was my answer as well. And when I could give a free-text answer about NFTs
I said simply that they were a scam.

Oh, you don’t know nothing!  You could buy MOCs¹ and they would grow in value
and you could become rich!

¹ Well, you could buy the original file for the MOC…
er, okay, a Studio file with the MOC…
er, well, if you insist, it’s a link to a file for the MOC…
er, what?  a place in a blockchain?
Okay, a place in a blockchain that contains the link to the MOC!
er, actually just a hash that represents the link?
er, well, anyway, you could sell it to… er… someone who would buy it for more?
Yourself?  Yeah!  Buy it from yourself and it sure grows in value each time!
That’s how it works.  We’re all gona make it to the moon… or somethimg like
that… I think.

Why that is simple, an NFT is a non-fungible token - it's pretty much is
self explanatory.

Ok, so I've looked it up, and I'm still a bit confused as to exactly
how and why they'd be used with Bricklink. From what I understand, NFT are
digital items that you can buy? So how could they be implemented into Bricklink.

I'm sorry, but I am 200% confused by all of this. There are few things I'm
totally confused by, and NFT's are one of them.

You use Studio to render a really cool MOC or minifigure, then turn the render
into an NFT. At least that is my understanding.

And if it sounds silly, well that's because it is.

Or for $25000 you can own the catalogue listing for the 3001 brick. You cannot
do anything with it, but you can tell other collectors that you own it. There
is only one (aside from the old and special variants), so it is the rarest of
all 3001 memorabilia.

Maybe we are missing the point and NFT refers to some obscure LEGO thing, like

Ninjago Fan Toys
New Friends Theme
Nexo Fighter Teams
?

Then it makes more sense to ask about this in the survey. I sure hope so.

Great article why NFT is very bad thing but it is a long (ca. 1h of reading)
but it is very detailed and shows that NFT is scam.
https://antsstyle.medium.com/why-nfts-are-bad-the-long-version-2c16dae145e2

This cancer is nowe attacking everywhere in games it is also a big problem with
NFT now, but gamers are opposing it very much for now and for example developers
of Stalker 2 had to resing from NFT in their game due to players oppose.
https://www.nme.com/news/gaming-news/stalker-2-cancels-all-nft-related-plans-one-day-after-announcing-them-3121032

This survey has lack one ansver: I know wjat NFT is and I'm not interested
in it.

Even if you say you don’t know what an NFT is the survey then forces you to answer
whether you would be interested Yes or No? along with subsequent questions
like why aren’t you interested?
Again very strange questioning process that isn’t likely to help with gaining
the most accurate of survey data

Incidentally only a few days ago there was an official Lego tweet relating to
NFT’s that was later removed?

That tweet is from ol' good 2021

Does not change the fact that LEGO is stepping on the same rake exactly a year
later..

Incidentally only a few days ago there was an official Lego tweet relating to
NFT’s that was later removed?
https://www.brickfanatics.com/lego-tweets-mysterious-nft-tease-immediately-deletes-it/

That tweet is from ol' good 2021

Does not change the fact that LEGO is stepping on the same rake exactly a year
later..

haha, Your right... with the subject so current I just saw the 25th March and
assumed it was posted a few days ago but it seems the NFT thing has been firmly
on Legos minds for more than a year
