| This is the first order I have had go missing in 11 years of sales. Can some
of you
who may have gone thru this give me tips on how to proceed? Claim has been filed
with
UPS, They say it is lost after only two days of investigation. It was over $500.00
set
and unfortunately I did not buy extra insurance. On pirate ship they said it
had
$100.00 insurance. Do I notify Bricklink first?

Bricklink won't have anything to do with this. The responsibility is on
you as the seller to properly resolve the matter. You can file the claim for
the coverage that you have, but IMO you will have to eat the rest of the difference.
Insurance is for the seller, so if you aren't comfortable with the potential
loss, you should purchase the insurance. Tough lesson to learn, but it happens
sometimes.
You'll also need to work with the buyer for their refund and cancel/close
the order.

You can claim the insurance on Pirate Ship but next time you ship something this
expensive, pay for signature confirmation - this way the buyer has to sign to
receive it. I do this on all purchases over $100. It's probably likely that
UPS delivered it to the wrong house. I'm really sorry this happened to you
. UPS should also cover the 1st $100 of the value , they may cover more - I don't
know that much about their claims process.
