Not shipping Internationnaly seems to me like people saying "no PayPal because
of fees".
Maybe you get 5% less, but at least you get 95% instead of zero.
Just saying...

We used to up until about 8 months ago. Unfortunately we had several lost packages
internationally. We are at 100% domestic.

Domestic? Me too I'm household
But as I said, maybe you lost some (why, it's not normal), but still you
probably got more and now... you're loosing 100% of them
Again, just a remark, don't mention it.

Yes true... but we also get about 20-30 orders a day. Sometimes more than we
can keep up with lol. But always appreciated.

Their parts will probably still sell anyway, but slightly slower domestically
rather than internationally.

I see - problem with those stats is that they are full time, since openning your
shop, it doesn't help much to see evolutions...
Here: FR 40%, EU maybe 30%, Export maybe 30%
But since 2020 it's closer to: FR 50%, EU 25%, Export 25%

The exact percentages may vary from year to year, but my point is that the OP
is probably not losing much money by only selling to American buyers. If anything,
they are probably saving money—international shipping is risky and expensive.

No problemo, if 20% is nothing.

I didn't notice more problems Internationnaly than in EU or even in France.
And the cost is paid by the buyer (isn't it a good idea I had?)
Do as you think.

I don't make much money off of international sales. Most of my international
sales are for PDF instructions, which have no shipping cost. When only orders
with parts or sets are considered, 90-95% of my orders are domestic.
Also shipping from US to EU is not the same thing as shipping within the EU.
US is not part of EU!!! (Now that's an idea… )
Also buyer does not always pay the full shipping cost. I once had an order from
France that cost $70 to ship! The buyer paid only $40 for shipping. But the order
was well over $200 so I ate the cost. But that is my fault.
Another time, I had a buyer from Australia request a quote. Complained that the
shipping cost was too high so I gave him free shipping. He added some instructions
to his order so essentially we split the difference, similar to the French buyer.
I offer international shipping not to make money but as a courtesy to international
buyers. BrickLink is my hobby not my job. If it was my job I would probably ship
only to USA and Canada like OP. Domestic market is much bigger than international
market for American sellers. Only the biggest stores have much to gain or lose.
Put another way, 80% of my buyers come from the USA, but 90% of the stores I
buy from are in the USA.

I understand all this pretty much.
Just wanted to say - shipping methods can be detailed and "exact" (except rare
cases you simply don't care losing 50 cents), is for the other Countries
(mainly) as safe as yours, doesn't request sooo much extra work, and provides
a bit or a decent part of extra business.
I'd be happy new sellers not being afraid of International, that's my
only point
