So I ordered 130 dark blue torso with black hands (which only comes with the
CMF hockey player) and all their hands were stuck in the arms to where they could
not come out. I was trying to make monochrome dark blue figures. Does that sound
fishy to anyone? Also my brother who has a very reputable store bought new condition
arms from this store and they glow in black light. Anyway to check this store
on their parts? The store did refund me fully but all their stuff leaves a bad
taste in my mouth. but 8000+ positive reviews and only 9 negative/neutral reviews.

It is possible that they were made for non-minifig use, such as magnets or keychains
although I thought those hands are normally removable. It has been a while since
I bought any.

If they seller had 130 of them, they must have known the source. It is not as
if they found a few in a lot.

There are also 1000s of dark blue torsos (without arms) in New condition for
sale. This suggests they might have been made for something but then not used.

I'm always a bit baffled by sellers like this. How, and equally importantly,
why would you have 39,000 new, sand blue plain torsos? That seems like a lot
of money to tie up in something that I would think would take decades to sell.
Any time I've asked about weirdness like this on a forum I'm basically
told to shut up and mind my own business. I'm just curious... not trying
to crap on your business model, but I've never heard anyone offer any reason.

Sellers don't generally like to give away their sources, it's not good
for business if others can get in on it too. I will say that all sorts of weird
quantities of parts show up in bulk lots from Lego, whether it's LUG support,
a model shop closing down, play brick for an event, direct bulk deals for resellers,
someone abusing LugBulk, old BaM stock, lucky LegoLand PaB find, etc etc... It's
usually not backdoor parts that aren't supposed to be resold in the
first place, but as a buyer it's hard to know for sure. I once ended up with
several thousand 3068bpb0354 from a legitimate source when there were only 6
in one set ever, and yes, it did take about a decade to get rid of them all.

Thanks... a good answer! I was never as curious about the sources of the parts,
as I was about the 'why' would you get it, but I guess if you get them
for pennies on the dollar, then it's worth it no matter what.

Oh yeah, I remember those...
