Not given it much thought before, nor do I know what to make them now I’m thinking
about it

What do yours look like, or have you even given thought to the subject?

85 is our highest, with a big drop to 35 at 2nd. If I count customers from the
owl site, I got one at 155.

Are you referring to your total months' orders or the highest number of orders
ONE customer placed in your store?

Don't know how to copy the page, but:
total buyers is 2127
top buyer is 185 (but haven't gotten an order from the buyer for some time

a couple of 29s below that, then it continues to go down

Wow! Gives me some perspective.

It seems my patronage over the years, is on the trailing edge. Impressive, Paul.

Did you know Darth Vader (Jones, James Earl) suffered deeply with the childhood

Sad, hearing the man reflect on it.

Mine are 21,19, 7, 7, 6, 4, 4, 3, 3, 3, 3, then many 2s

The first 2 are from my city (Vienna) as well and they pick up some parts from
time to time (don't have any minimum buy for local pickups, even 1 small
part is fine, if needed )

Nice of you to offer that type of local service.

Beautiful, your city Wien! One of the nicer Capitals I've been to. Last time
I was in Austria though, was a for a week in Kitzbuhel.

Never looked at this summary before. Nothing interesting as far as number of
orders, but I did notice 12 orders to buyers not in the US even though that’s
the only place I ship. I guess they either moved or are dropshippers.

Most is 12.
Many pages of 2's and 1's of course.

I found my buying habits seem to be stuck on a core group of sellers. Most times
I've bought from the same store is 13

My top 5 are all customers who do local pick-up so they don't have to pay
shipping fees. Those numbers are 71, 48, 37, 28, 25

The most to a mailing address is 16 (twice)

What do you suppose people are doing when they place 60 orders?

I mostly buy parts to complete partial sets I acquire at yard sales or in auction
lots. Even the biggest stores rarely have enough variety to get more than one
or two orders from me. Which is a shame, because there is lots of great customer
service on here that I would be happy to reward with repeat business.

Good question. Never given that much thought, either.

Here's where I think some clarification is found: We've never been that

I've been on BrickLink for a while now—exactly 7.5 years ago from today,
in fact! I mostly buy parts to build MOCs. I try to buy from different stores
to give everyone a fair chance, but it seems like it's always the same sellers
that have all of the parts I need at the best price.

I think this is part of what makes it hard to "break into the market" on BrickLink,
so to speak. you need sizable investments in inventory and labor in order to
capture a decent market share. Even when I did sell parts, orders were few and
far between. It's cheaper to buy parts from a big store that has most of
the parts you need and pay for shipping once than to buy parts from a lot of
small stores that each have only a few of the parts you need and pay for shipping
many times over, even if the parts themselves are a bit more expensive. This
is why I gave away a box of free parts on the forum a while ago. My inventory
had shrunk to the point where it was hard to generate sales, and I had no use
for these particular parts, so I figured someone else could have them.

I mostly buy parts to complete partial sets I acquire at yard sales or in auction
lots. Even the biggest stores rarely have enough variety to get more than one
or two orders from me. Which is a shame, because there is lots of great customer
service on here that I would be happy to reward with repeat business.

I've dropped coin with you. Though not among your repeat buyers, I could
well have been given the supreme service and product I received.

That's amazing, 87 purchases in less than two years! What I guess could be
termed a Super Fan, Pete.

Side note: we've only transacted once, it's seems. Don't know

Yeah it's almost an order a week on average. He would regularly place orders
the day after a previous order, before I could even ship the prior one. He has
slowed down recently though...

The thing I like about my repeat customer list is that 20 of the top 25 users
have purchased from me in the last year, 14 in the last 6 months and 7 in 2022.
To me that indicates that I am moving in the right direction.

Side note: we've only transacted once, it's seems. Don't know

I think I've made one purchase from you in the past. Most of my purchases
are around minifigures and I'm always looking for the best deal.

Sure, I get it. I'm not really a "best deal" kind of vendor. Never have been
and never will be.

But what I meant by "surprised" is that I've not reciprocated with a buy
from you, yet. Something I tried to practice in the past.

My prices aren't exactly low either. I don't often expect too many orders
from the veterans on this forum considering they probably know cheaper options
or are more apt to wait for the good deals. I like to think my customer service
and high selection make up for the prices though.

Interesting numbers.

Seems you have that steady flow of returning buyers? Which should be telling.

Little jealous of how many repeat buyers you have. I've got 1273 more individual
buyers but outside of my whale figure buyer at 63, my repeats are more tempered
between 10 and 5. I'd wonder what type of store, parts only vs figures vs
mix, would lead to higher repeat buyers.

It seems that it's with your "whale" some insight to your subsequent question
might be found?

Very good question, that I hope others will chime-in on!

Click "Summary" from the Orders Received page. It's in the upper right corner.
On the summary page you can also see a breakdown by country.

In processing an order, the Number of orders in this store (60)
caught my attention. It got me thinking, what are some of our repeat buyer stats?
Not given it much thought before, nor do I know what to make them now I’m thinking
about it

What do yours look like, or have you even given thought to the subject?

We consider repeat buyers a very important stat.

Our top 10 currently stand at (in number of orders)

330, 200, 179, 155, 128, 124, 120, 106, 104, 98

As any serious venture, should. Never been one of those interested in growth
here, though. It happened organically, despite my lack of interest. Yes, we had
some size too, back in the day

I'm impressed. But being among your repeat buyers, not surprised

See attached. On the owl we actually have one with 133, and one with 76.

The top on BL (with 67 orders) designs and builds small colorful models. Once
done, he ships them out to a school in Mexico for the kids.

Niek.

Is there a pattern forming here: Members selling on both sites having a higher
rate of buyers returning over on Law's site? If so, is it because there's
fewer vendors to select from over there?

Though maybe it's too small a sampling to reach any such conclusion.

Yes, this is certainly the case for me. I would guess that around 25% of my orders
are from repeat customers over there.

I've only been open for just under 2.5 years, so my stats are smaller.
I've had 803 buyers. My top five repeats are at 7,7,5,5,3. The rest on the
1st page are all 3's and 2's.

That's at least 25 returning buyers.

I took a look at the other site. My top 5 there are 13, 7, 7, 6, 5. I have only
had 614 orders over there verses the 862 I've had here.

24 is my top but their last order was Oct 18, 2018. They also have never left
me feedback.

A solid amount of returning buyers.

BTW, you and I have a single order placed with each other, but it's been
awhile
