| I am located in Canada, and I just received a US$350 order from someone with
0 feedback. They are also located in Russia, so shipping will be slow and expensive.
What steps could I take to protect myself from fraud? Thanks.

1. Don't pack the order until it's paid for.
2. Take photographs at various stages of packing, with identifying information
as to date, invoice number, etc.
3. Use a shipping method that has insurance. If necessary pay for the insurance
yourself.
4. Use a shipping method that as delivery confirmation.
5. Use Paypal.

Thanks! Re-opened my store after many years to sell off some extra sets I have
accumulated, so I'm out of touch with the current seller's scene.

Its always worth engaging in some non-essential conversation with them about
their order/shipping options etc... even if that means you have to stretch to
a bit of small talk about how they came to find Bricklink. How they communicate
and conduct themselves may just give you the added reasurance your looking for.
Also if you get off to a good rapport to begin with the transaction is likely
to end much the same way!

Very true!
Also, I did not find cheap shipping methods to Russia that comes with tracking
so I don't ship to Russia.

True, sending this order to Russia with tracking will cost over US$300!

We may have all started with 0 feedback, but most of us didn't place a high
dollar order as the first one. This order would make me nervous as in order to
be covered, you really need to send with tracking, and most buyers aren't
going to want to pay that ...unless it contains rare items not found locally.
You can take all the photos you want ...complete with an entire detachment of
RCMPs watching you pick every piece, pack the parcel and send it off to Russia
(with Love) at the Post Office. But if you don't send it with tracking, PayPal
won't care. No tracking = no coverage.
And yes, I have shipped to Russia but it was a rare set and the buyer did pay
for tracking. Just not worth the risk ..especially with a zero FB buyer.

It still goes back to what I have said many times; no should be allowed to buy
or sell until they have a feedback rating of 5 positives. That would prevent
a lot of problems.

I did not know you had 5 cats. I have 6 indoors and 4 regular outside cats and
found another yesterday who gets a trip to the vet today, a black 5-6 months
old, for shots and blood and poop tests and snip snip. Not sure what we are
going to do with this one. Then we have a family in the back, mother and 4 kittens.
She took up residency in out pool cover so we cannot have the pool cleaned until
they leave.
It is so good to see you back Sylvain. I am glad you are back on the forum.

Saï Saï, Björk, Forrest, Nouba, Chat Gris (dead recently), outside: Chagall and

Just got back from vet with new kitty - now it is a she. So her name is Princess
Victoria or Vicky for short. My wife teaches British Literature. Even though
we won the war with Britain, actually twice, (Let's Go Washington) I really
like the British (not the royals.) I want to send my wife to the UK to teach
them proper English. They always seem to need help there. (But Tennyson is my
favorite poet. Sorry Dickinson.
Oh, Cats names: Sammi, Katie, Maggie, Mindy, Pepper, Abby, outside front porch:
Momma, Mickey, Socks, S*** Head, Back atio: Lilly, Vanilla, Little Lilly, Little
Vanilla and no name Vanilla.
I know TMI.

| How Beautiful John!
My husband was "against" having an orange cat, so I've ended up with a Black
one with a white blaze and a quite strikingly beautiful Tabby.
The black one will fetch balls like a dog for 15 mins at a time, brings them
right to you. The other one is equally high energy. They both steal items, knock
things over, parkour the whole house.
I'm used to "typical" cats. These two have been quite the adjustment.

I guess you also have to discuss your own place in the bed?
Here it's fights and compromises every night.
We'd to train them not to bother the Shop stock, for obvious reasons, this
is acquired. But in exchange they mess up our beds
I'm not sure about the stuffed toys I can see on yours - this seems crazy
while having also so many hairy toys...
Anyway, they're all wonderful, thanks for the pics - the white and grey outside
is a solid beast.
I don't know, but TMC maybe
