Hello, I am hoping someone can help me identify a piece in set 5887 (Dino Defense
HQ, circled in the attached page from the instructions' inventory). I've
got a complete set except for these pieces and I'm wondering what I'm
missing. I don't think these pieces are listed in the Bricklink parts list
for this set, and I also can't find where they're used in the building
instructions. Many thanks to anyone who is able to help!

I guess it is the black element with pin that is part of some dinosaur elements
and accidentally found its way into the official parts list.

I bet you're right - it looks like the right shape and it also explains why
