| Dear All,
I cancelled an order as a seller, and I made a full refund to the buyer.
Now the buyer threaten me via emails and he wants me to pay him the difference
between the price from the most expensive place and between the price on the
original invoice from me.
What can I do in this case?
Thanks in advance

| If you have fully refunded the buyer there is nothing more you have to do. You
don't have to refund any more than was paid. (I think that's what your
asking)

| You are totally right.
My buyer mentioned some European Union rules that If I cancel an order, and he
has to buy the goods from somewhere else, I have to pay for the difference.
I'm not a lawyer this is why I'm asking for help.

| I would ask the buyer to provide a link to a government-run website with an exact
quote of what he is trying to tell you.

Curious, why did you cancel the order as a seller?

| Based on my experiences, these inv.gremlins or errors are becoming more common.
Mistakes happen. We are people making mistakes.
If this is how mistakes are handled by this buyer ("pay me more than you owed
me as I am now forced to buy elsewehere at higher costs!") I would gladly block
this buyer. No matter how disappointed one gets, this is morally wrong IMO.
You did handle correct.

Actually, he probably did not handle it correctly. He has 4 negative feedbacks
from people stating that he canceled their order because he did not have what
they purchased and he admits this openly in his reply to all 4 of them saying
"Every seller started to list this set before they get it as it is an employee
set" and then on top of that he gave them all a retaliatory negative feedback
saying that they "Did not understand cancellation"? He left them the retaliatory
feedbacks even thou he was the one at fault when going against BrickLink's
terms knowingly listing sets he did not have and then canceling orders when people
purchased them.
He doesn't seem to have to real good track record for selling. Out of 97
feedbacks for selling he has 6 negatives and 1 neutral.

| ah, thanks for that intel.
Than it seems to be an inapropriate way of selling items you do not have.
That's against the BL terms right?
And I hereby recall my prior post regarding correct handling.
However, it still might be the case of the inv.gremlins in this particular sale.
It might... Almost all his neg's and replies to them are in regards to a
particular employee set if I read them well.

Looking at your negative feedback you seem to have a history of selling items
that you cannot supply. Did you actually have the set when you listed it for
sale, or do you only buy the items once you have sold them?

The other important statistic here is 31 orders placed in store, but 17 cancelled.
That is a huge number of cancellations. Clearly not inventory glitches.
Based on location I guess it is a seller that sells exclusive employee gifts
on bricklink and then once sold tries to buy the items from LEGO employees in
the local area, if he can get them.
Of course, there is nothing wrong with selling gifts that were given to employees
but the bricklink seller must have them in hand. That is, buy them from the employees
first, then list them and not the item way around.

| Yes, it was an employee set what everybody started to list weeks before they
have the sets in hand. Many of the cancelled orders were initiated by the buyer.
When I initiated the cancellation it was also not my fault in many of the cases
(for example when buyer ordered 5 sets but wanted only one).
Also I advertised the sets in other forums where they were sold locally and Bricklink
inventory was not updated.
I still don't think that after I fully refunded my buyer, I still have to
pay more for him.

No, you don't have to pay more to that buyer.
But you are breaking bricklink rules listing, selling and taking money for items
you do not own and so the buyers leaving feedback are completely entitled to
leave neutral or negative feedback to warn other buyers that you do not have
what you are selling.

| Beside your history of trying to sell inventory that you don't have access
to - here is my opinion as buyer on this:
I usually wait some months until I have a bigger wanted list (mostly parts) that
I want to buy. Using "Buy" functionality of bricklink is very convenient and
I normally create about 5 orders to order everything for about 5 sellers.
Now one of the sellers cancels the order because parts are not available (or
some of the parts). This is very annoying as you have to order the missing parts
(or the complete order) from other sellers - which results in more costs (shipping),
because usually this single order that was canceled has to be ordered from about
3 other sellers. So there are additional costs for buyers.
So in my opinion, this behavior from a seller deserves at least a "Neutral"
