I saw the following on a seller's splash page...

"Standard first-class shipping does not come with tracking or insurance."

True about insurance but besides sticker sheets, what could someone be selling
that doesn't fall under first class package service which includes tracking?

Sadly, First Class Package Tracking for International items only goes as far
as the recipient's port of entry. Once delivered in Country, the USPS couldn't
give a rat's behind, and can't even be bothered to look it up. Half the
time, that in Country tracking is worse than USPS, and rarely gets updated, even
upon delivery. I know there are exceptions, but in the past 6 months, virtually
every late delivery issue for International orders has revolved simply around
trying to keep Buyers calm about delivery, because some places are taking 3-4
months to deliver a simple package. Pay more, get less.

These sites won't work miracles but are good for international tracking:

It used to be true that 1st class did not come with tracking. You had to pay
an extra fee (about $.45 IIRC) for what they called "Delivery Confirmation".

That changed years ago though. Now any kind of package sent through USPS comes
with tracking by default, from Media Mail up through Express.

If I had to guess I would say that this seller either hasn't kept up with
changes in USPS service, or has forgotten to update their splash page.

Thank you

Instructions and cloth capes as well

I'm guessing old splash terms though, tracking wasn't always a thing

As others have pointed out, First Class parcels didn't always come with tracking.
But also, while that's "true" about insurance, the seller is still responsible
for the package in the event it gets lost or is damaged in transit.
