Requesting a little input from the BrickLink community. I need a method for storing
and quickly accessing my space minifigs that is an improvement over my current
method.

A photo of my current fig storage method is attached. The problem is that I have
several 70841 (Benny's Space Squad) to open someday, not to mention some
orange space figs, and the current method offers no extra room. The storage box
in the photo is a Kobalt Small Storage bin, p/n 295963. A link to an example
at Lowe's is here:

https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-15-5-in-W-x-3-in-H-x-2-825-in-D-Black-Plastic-Bin/4480611

Set No: 70841 Name: Benny's Space Squad
*
70841-1 (Inv) Benny's Space Squad
40 Parts, 5 Minifigures, 2019
Sets: The LEGO Movie 2

Beggars don't make very good choosers, but ideally I am seeking:

- enough space to store about 250 minifigs with some space remaining
- (preferably) a transparent top so I can see into the unit without having to
open it
- (preferably) a fairly modular functionality like the Kobalt container in the
photo with its movable dividers

Any suggestion at all is welcome. I don't relish carrying two or more such
containers; one large one would suffice.

Your input appreciated,

Hi Pat

That's my way of storing minifigs. I use it also for minifigs utensils.

It's 5000-Count Super Monster Storage Box for Trading and Gaming Cards.
That how it's called on Amazon But that's not the only place you can
find it

It stores a little more than 250 Maybe around 300 minifigs.
I put them in 3x4 "ziplock" bags and insert a piece of paper
with BL ID of the minifigure. I sort them in alphabetical order by BL ID.
Outside of the box I just put short description of what range is inside.

Thank you for your reply. I'll put it on the list. Hard to believe that central
Texas will be on a similar weather footing as your area of the country. Without
the snow of course.

That comes in February

Stefan:

That's the way I am going for the MF storage...I will sort by theme first
then alpha. I was looking at the 3 or 4 row box, but the 5 row seems just as
manageable. Happy New Year.

Regards,

MFKen

Have you looked at the Dewalt Deep Parts Organizers? Basically the same as that
Kobalt from Lowes, but 4.5" deep and the bins lift out.

I dont know how many they can store, but they're pretty big. I use them for
my bulk unsorted minifigs, and I love it as I can lift out one bucket, dump it,
sort it, and put it back in.

Not only had I not even considered those, but I *now* remember that I actually
have some - er, somewhere. The quest begins soon.

Is there a face-palm emoticon?

Thank you!

For a small range and many of each, clear plastic bags (old LEGO ones) in a tub.
Cheap and quick to find.

With my insatiable thirst for Classic Space minifigs, it may very well come to
that. In the interim, Happy New Year from across the pond, and many thanks!

I store them in bins (like the one you linked to) which have 10-16 compartments.
Each minifig is ending in a number between 0 and 9 so I put all minifigs that
end in 5 in the same compartment.

I always put minifigs in a separate ziplock when I part them out and insert a
small paper with a large written number in the bag and I do this by theme: one
bin for Friends, one for Ninjago and so on.

This is working very well for me!

For me just simple bags within containers like this:-
