Placed 6 orders in order to get 1 feedback to open my own store

1. Order placed, cancelled due to too high shipping cost. Left positive feedback
regardless.
2. Order received in a very damaged LEGO box, packaging was taped to the Lego
box. Left positive feedback regardless.
3. Order placed, shipped two weeks ago, not received.
4. Order placed, never shipped, ignored all my messages, NSS case and Paypal
claim. Left negative feedback.
5. Order placed, shipped a week ago. Hoping to receive it at some point.
6. Order placed, cancelled, owner on holidays, can't ship.

So one month and 6 orders later, not one order received and not one positive
feedback left for me.

One person, who I never dealt with, has blocked me, and ignored my message asking
why.

Is this normal? I take the blame for order 1 being cancelled, that was a learning
curve. The other 5 orders don't fill me with confidence using this marketplace.

Thoughts?

I guess really unlucky!

You could place a very small order nationally to get the feedback quick, or maybe
reach out to the stores that haven't left feedback yet. Not all stores (or
buyers) leave feedback, some wait until a certain point and leave mass feedback
to all their buyers.

I definitely hope your Bricklink experience will improve soon, as this really
sounds you have been very unlucky. My experience is that most sellers and buyers
are really understanding, but unfortunately not all of them.

No - it isn't normal. As a seller I leave feedback when I ship the order.
I know there are numerous sellers who wait until the buyer leaves feedback before
leaving it themselves, but it is certainly not normal for a seller not to leave
feedback at all, even for a buyer who has left positive feedback.

No it isn’t normal but there is a but…

I hardly buy on Bricklink due to, although less, problems too.

In the last about a dozen orders I made as a buyer I had about the same amount
of mistakes.
So let’s say almost or maybe even a whole 100% mistakes made by sellers.
The worst is one I wrote about a few months ago about 5 SH minfigs of 1 kind
I bought for a reasonable price, the seller cancelled them because he sold them
on Ebay…no communication at all.
After a few weeks he replaced the exact amount of these for a much higher price
and even made an ‘advertisement’ on the forum. I replied with a sharp response,
he deserved it.
In other orders I made parts that I needed where not included and not mentioned
before shipping so I had no choice of cancelling the order or otherwise. Most
of the time you just get the money back for the part itself, that’s it.
The last order I made was with a wrong part, the seller shipped the right part
in an instant, at first a bad surprise (not again) but he made up for it the
right way.

And yes, as a seller I do make mistakes myself, a wrong count of parts.
But in less than 2% of the orders I think and in parts less than a promillage.
And if I make a mistake I contact the buyer first, make some suggestions or let
them look for a suggestion.
Sometimes this means sending a part later, refund the part and a stamp or send
the buyer another part they need for a higher price than the part they bought.

So, my buying experience isn’t good as well.

Sorry it happened to you while you really need a nice feedback.

Good luck!
Ton.

It's clearly not normal, though I admit I can't figure out what unfortunate
chain of events would lead to this. As a point of contrast, from 126 orders placed
here over the past few years I've received all 126 - mostly without errors
- and feedback for 120, although not always promptly. I have at least a higher
success rate with orders placed on Bricklink than with Amazon.

As for the user who has presumably stoplisted you in their store, I'm not
sure if there's a way for them to also block messages from you - if so it
would perhaps follow that they would do both, and therefore not receive your
question.

As others have said I would definitely say not normal I try to use instant checkout
stores more so I can see the shipping costs first or try and check them out
before as like you I don't want to place an order and have to cancel.

I checked my stats just now and since being a member and most of them within
the last calendar year I've placed 184 orders a handful have had issues either
incorrect/missing parts, some have been picked up by the sellers first all have
been resolved quickly and positively by mutual discussion. of those I currently
have received feedback on 172 of those orders.

hopefully you will be able to get a feedback from one of those orders soon

The seller had only one other feedback before you. Very unexperienced seller.

  3. Order placed, shipped two weeks ago, not received.

International? Few weeks transit is normal for an international order.

  4. Order placed, never shipped, ignored all my messages, NSS case and Paypal
claim. Left negative feedback.

The seller have 137 positive and 3 neutral feedbacks. He/she does not have the
best feedback record but you did not check that and still submitted an order.

  5. Order placed, shipped a week ago. Hoping to receive it at some point.

I am not sure why you are worried about this or why you even mentioned it here.
Do you consider something is wrong or will potentially be wrong with this order?

  6. Order placed, cancelled, owner on holidays, can't ship.

Don't know the seller because you didn't leave any feedback for him/her.

So one month and 6 orders later, not one order received and not one positive
feedback left for me.

So you received one order and it is too early to consider the other (international)
orders are late or not.

One person, who I never dealt with, has blocked me, and ignored my message asking
why.

You wrote on forum few times:
https://www.bricklink.com/messageList.asp?uID=2401782&max=20

Even if you write on forum "I think 3 plus 5 is equal 8", there is a chance you
may get stoplisted by some users for some absurd reasons.

Is this normal?

You do not read feedbacks of seller (or his terms) so this can happen.

I take the blame for order 1 being cancelled, that was a learning
curve. The other 5 orders don't fill me with confidence using this marketplace.

Thoughts?

Not sure how you got to that conclusion.

I read ALL terms and I check store feedback.
