Anyone using PayPal Micropayments? It seems like the fees would be more interesting,
any one have experienced it?

At one time, using micropayments required a second PayPal account. IOW, an account
was either all full rate fees, or all micropayment fees.

My PayPal account charges full fee regardless of the size of transaction, how
do I convert it to dual micro and normal fee account?

There is no dual PayPal account. You have to have two PayPal accounts, one for
each. Then you go to Store Settings / Payments and click on Add Micropayments
account.

Hi, I originally signed up with bricklink using a personal paypal account. I've
finally gotten around to setting up a separate business account and called PayPal
to request they enable dynamic micropayments. When I go through the Add Micropayments
flow in bricklink, should I use a very high cutoff value so that all transactions
get directed to the business account with micropayments enabled? In other words,
is there any reason I would want to keep sending any transactions to the original
PayPal account? Thanx.

If PayPal is doing everything on their side then I think you would just want
to send all transactions through that one account. If you could share a bit more
about the rates on your accounts then I can check the math to see if using the
original account in some circumstances is better.

Thanks for the offer. I'm based in the US so currently PayPal is charging
3.49% + $0.49 per transaction: https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/merchant-fees

My most recent order was:

BrickLink Order $8.49
Shipping $4.25
Purchase total $12.74
Fee -$0.93
Total $11.81

And 12.74*0.0349+0.49 = 0.934626 so that checks out.

According to the same link above, micropayments should be 4.99% + $0.09 so using
that order I would have instead been charged a fee of 12.74*0.0499+0.09 = 0.725726
or $0.73.

Reading this in more detail: https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/ua/useragreement-full#micropayments-fees
it seems like if my account is approved for Dynamic Micropayments, then I should,
in theory, route all transactions to that account. Sounds like in the past there
was only Static Micropayments in which case I can understand wanting to set a
threshold to switch between the two. I think I saw in another forum post that
the threshold in that case is around $26.

Yes, it's $26.67:

0.0499x + 0.09 0.0349 + 0.49

==

0.015x 0.4

==

x 26.66666...

Thanks for the confirmation. Looks like my PayPal account has been approved.
Sold a sticker sheet for $0.35, buyer asked for it to be shipped in a regular
envelope with the understanding that it will go through the automatic mail sorter
etc. and could get damaged. I put it in several pieces of paper, $0.58 for the
stamp, $0.08 for tax, $1.01 total and PayPal took $0.14. Through the other mechanism,
I would have lost actual money (not just time lol).
