| Found this in the lot I recently acquired. Lips are misaligned in the head. Such
QA defects : increase the value of the part or decrease it? Any idea?

To my knowledge, misprints are highly sought after, so yes, it would increase
the value of the part. I am not one of the aforementioned collectors so I can't
say that with certainty, but I believe it does increase the value of the part.

After I looked into it a little further it turns out that simple misprints like
the one you've posted don't actually increase the part value.

For something like that, it won't affect the price much at all. It is just
a badly aligned print rather than a misprint. If the lips were on the back of
the head or the whole print was upside down, then maybe worth a bit more. Plus
it is in awful condition with lots of print loss around the hairline, so of little
interest to collectors.
The good news is that head is reasonably hard to find so worth more than contemporary
classic smiley heads but still not worth a huge amount.

Still it's giving her (the original minifigure I mean) a little bit different
emotion like Mona Lisa
For a used head part which gets a headgear that hair loss doesn't make it
to the awful condition I think. Pattern on most of the face is still intact.
