Hi everyone,

I’m new to this forum so go easy on me!

I’m hoping to get some advice. I bought a Star Wars New Order Assault Walker
(item 75189) last year as I saw that it was to be discontinued. It’s still sealed
in the box but there’s a large rip in the back of the box.

I wondered if anyone could advise if this has significantly affected the value
and if so what the likely value would be.

Thanks in advance!

The box is listed for $17 to $35, there has been only two sales, $13 and $20.
Deduct an amount from the sealed price in box for what you would value the box.

Is it ripped enough that anything could have fallen out or been removed? If it
is a big hole it might be better to sell as opened but new, and check everything
is there. Otherwise you may be risking a return for missing items.

It’s a fairly big rip but I’m pretty sure nothing is missing. I think it got
damaged in the post and the outer packaging was ok, so it looks like it’s all
still there.

So, the shipping box was intact, but the LEGO box was ripped? I am wondering
how that could have happened during shipment.

Anyway, if you go to youtube and search for your set number and 'unboxing',
you should find videos of people opening this set. That way you can check if
everything was bagged or if there might be anything small and loose in the box.

Good luck!

But first just weight the box. It should Weight: 1840g.
If it missing some parts you still may need to check out the inventory of the
box.

Have a nice day.

The catalog page weight should be read as a guideline. It can vary, due to regional
paperwork included, and (at one time) the difference between sets with trays
and those without. It can also vary depending on the accuracy of different scales.
Not hitting the exact weight, as reported on BL, is not necessarily a sign of
a problem.

If someone buys it and complains about missing parts, is your "pretty sure" assertion
a money back guarantee? This is not a sealed set. It is not a set for sealed
box collectors. It is not a set for gifting. It is an open it and build it set.
You might as well open it and check it. The difference in price between an opened
but new set and a new but badly damaged boxed set is negligible. The difference
is that you know the former is complete.

Personally I part these out. You never know what could have fallen out. I more
often than not find things missing/figs stolen. Not worth the headache
