| I am looking to change every red brick and wheel from red to purple in the #10258
London Bus set. Has anyone done this? Or similar?
How is it easiest to change out bricks of the same kind to just a different color?
Any help is appreciated.

You can search for the #10258 London Bus in the 'Sets' section of this
site. There, you can find a list of all of the parts and their colors. With
this list, you can use the BrickLink catalog to check each individual red part
to see if it is also available in dark purple (that's the name of the color
on here) - that's what I did for some of the parts in the Speed Champions
1974 Porsche 911 3.0 set (#75895) when I wanted to switch them from white to
dark purple. Any that I couldn't get in dark purple, I used yellow in their
place to make it look different. I've also done the same with medium azure
and dark azure pieces for another car.
If some of the parts are not made in dark purple, then you are more than likely
out of luck.

| It is not possible without major substitutions and/or painting bricks.

I'm not sure all of the parts used in the London Bus are made in purple (I
think you mean the color known as Dark Purple on BrickLink). But the easiest
way to try this is to part out the set into a new wanted list, select all of
the Red parts (there are 88 lots from this set in Red), then click the "Color"
button next to Apply: and choose Dark Purple. Those parts not available in that
color won't show with images in your Wanted List.

I'd suggest buying the newer harry potter knight bus and modifying it to
be a double decker bus.

| There are too many parts needed that are not available in Dark purple. And to
make matters worse they are mostly the ones that are critical for the look, like
the wheel arches, curved slopes and the big round corner brick at the back.
finding good substitute parts for those with existing parts in Dark purple will
be a tough challenge.

I sort of remember a purple bus released a long time ago, but not that particular
set, had its own set number. I am be having a false memory, but I think they
were polybags of some sort. Cannot find it in the catalog. So maybe I am having
a brain fart.

That's the one, and IIRC that was possibly the earliest example of the use
of Dark Purple, and LEGO had lots of problems with color consistency.
