Am I allowed to talk about, possibly even recommend, another brand that works
with LEGO?

I recently found some DUPLO scale large plates (6x12) that are actually pretty
good quality, and considering that LEGO no longer sells sets with just these
plates, I consider these a reasonable substitute.
The brand is "Strictly Bricks".
The only feature I found that I did not like (as well as the LEGO DUPLO brand)
is that the edges are slightly sharper, but not so sharp they are dangerous.
I am building a large play surface, and these will be surrounded by actual LEGO
DUPLO brand.

Unfortunately I can not find the 8x16 Duplo scale plates in their brand.

I have always liked the NILO brand baseplate better than any of the LEGO brand
baseplates. This might be the only clone piece I actually think is better than
LEGO brand.

I really hope that when some company decides to clone the Duplo Toolo pieces,
it is Strictly Bricks, or a company that is equally interested in quality.
