The last guy! Thanks for sharing.

Now that you share this, I share a message of a buyer and how I answered it.

I had this part for sale and put in the description "tested".

Part No: 3443c02 Name: Train Battery Box Car with Three Contact Holes, Red Switch Lever, Black Magnets, Black Wheels, and Light Gray Roof
*
3443c02 (Inv) Train Battery Box Car with Three Contact Holes, Red Switch Lever, Black Magnets, Black Wheels, and Light Gray Roof
Parts: Train

A buyer sent me this message

Hi
You mention this item is ‘tested’, which I presume means it is ‘working’ too?
Many thanks

************
I ignored this message and didn't answer it as I knew this would not end
with a sale but after few days, I couldn't resist against my will and replied
him this:

Hi,

I wrote "Tested" instead of "Tested but not working" because I intended to mislead
buyers and make my disfunctional parts sell for high price, but unfortunately
you got me. So bad for me

Bests,
XXXX

My answer was not professional but there were no way I could remain profession
with that message. If I am judged to be un-professional, not helpful,... with
this buyer, then whatever.

That is funny. I had something similar on ebay a couple of months ago. I was
selling a new and sealed board game and a guy asked me if it was complete. I
replied it was new and still sealed. He replied that was not what he had asked.
So I replied that it might be complete or that it might contain a dead cat, until
the seal is broken we'll never know.

You're not kidding, I have come across every one of these sellers except
for the last one with the gun.

I love this thread - chuckles from me tonight.

When I was first starting out I bought a bunch of the huge plastic bins full
of Lego parts. Then when sorting I found that they did indeed have Lego but
were also full of ROCKS.. not kidding rocks like from the beach all mixed in,
like salad. Why?? why do that it wasn't like I brought my scale to weight
them.

Other things I have found:

Broken glass (yes)
Bullets (yes) in more than one lot, purchased from different people
hair, oh so much hair

We need to start a list like they post on FB about which movies people saw or
books they have read, only ours will be the thing we have found.

I have found batteries a few times. But never in lots where there were battery
operated parts.

This has been done in the past BUT I will start off with the many common non-Lego
items found...
Crayons
coins
screws
nails
monopoly game pieces
Battleship game pieces
sunflower seed shells
dust
dirt
nuts
popcorn
batteries
playmobile
hot wheels
weights for a scale
GI Joe accessories
marbles
rocks
hair
fur
feathers
little screwdrivers about 1 inch long
This is but a partial list of the things I have found over 17 years of sorting
Lego collections I have bought. The weirdest thing I have found was green Nickelodeon
slime.
