| Hey Everybody,
Hope you are getting along well. I have a couple of questions.
I would like to use a Regional Rate Priority box, but put postage for Regular
Priority rate postage on it and black out the "Regional Rate" printing on the
box. The reason is the RR box is the right size for the set that was ordered,
yet the Regular Priority rate is cheaper (go figure). Anyone done this before?
I want to buy a Christmas Wreath set
But it's not available on Lego.com. In the distant past, I could buy items
from the Lego Stores and have it shipped to me. First, do the stores still do
this? Second, does anyone know of a Lego Store near you that has them for sale
so I can call and get one?
Thanks,
You guys are always the best!!

It is showing as available on Lego.com right now, at least it is for me. As for
in store availability, as of last weekend the Tysons Corner store in Virginia
had them in stock.

I've never done it - maybe turn the box inside out? It should say "use for
priority mail" all over the inside but not a specific rate, so maybe you can
put a Priority Mail Cubic label on it?

For what it is work, my local office told us to never use a packaged USPS box
for anything other than what is labeled for, even if you turn it inside out.
If the box is damaged and they see the USPS label for a different rate, they
said the package will either be shipped back at your loss or you would be charged
the rate for the box type. This is the same if you try an wrap it in craft paper.
Your best best is to try and find something at a local store and then just cut
it down to make something that fits what you need to ship.

Ok, here is what my PO told me.
The bar code on the side of the box is keyed to what type of postage you have
to pay. So I can't put a Regular Priority on a Regional Rate box (even if
you cover the Regional Rate label) or it will be returned to me and I will have
to pay more.
I cut down priority boxes or put two together all the time with no problems.
I cut one down for the set I was shipping today and they said that was fine
as long as the label paid matches the type of box you're using.
Weird thing was that the rate for Regional Rate was $2 MORE than the cut down
Regular Rate. Oh well, who knows.
Thanks for all the comments and help. I got one of the wreaths too.

My guess is that they're factoring the price of the box into the Regional
Rate postage.

It just depends on far the package is going. We have had cases where the regional
rate boxes were less expensive then regular priority and vise a versa, just depends
on far it is going and how much it weighs.

| Donna,
The regional rate boxes can be more expensive than regular if the regular box
is light enough. You can ship a regional rate box full of lead or with just
one Lego part and the cost is the same. I suspect that is why the price discrepancy.
