| I have a special shipping policy for items under ¼in which minifigures do not
qualify for, but it was offered to one of my buyers because the following minifigure
doesn't have any packing dimension:
In the order page, the dimensions for the minifigure are indicated as "0x0x0"
which is under ¼in but it isn't correct.
Please ignore (=fail) size conditions in shipping policies for items missing
these dimensions.

Just curious... why the 1/4 inch thing? I don't know of any US restrictions
on package thickness??

| It is for USPS Letter Mail. I've been able to ship tiles and capes for cheap
with it.

Ah, I used to do that occasionally on request, but gave it up when an envelope
was returned to me with $2.90 'Postage Due' written on it. The mailing
rules do preclude rigid objects, so I guess it's just the luck of the draw!

There's also a chance that any rigid parts could get damaged by the automatic
sorting machines

I agree it is a fine line to thread, but the shipping method should definitely
NOT be suggested for minifigures, and it was this time because the minifigure
is missing packing dimensions, which isn't the same as having dimensions
of zero.

| Thank you for the heads-up, so far I used it for a couple orders, one for exactly
one 2x2 round tile and another for a single cape.

International Letter Mail can only be used for items of $0.00 value. All Goods
must ship at Package Rate. Snipped from USPS site:

| Indeed, but this just means USPS isn't liable in case of lost Letter Mail
like it guess could be for tracked packages for example. So it definitely would
be my loss if the letter didn't arrive with a part in it.

I don't believe most (or any) minifigs have dimensions.
You can check your inventory; on My Inventory, select "show more options", then
select "No Packing Dim in Catalog" and hit enter.
You will get a list of all items without Dimensions in your inventory (in my
case over 1400).

| I'm fine with items not having any dimensions set, but when they don't
have dimensions, they shouldn't enable the shipping methods with a dimension
constraint.
No dimensions set isn't equivalent to dimensions set to zero.

It's probably a bug. I know with items missing weight, they won't go
through my weight-bound shipping methods.

are fine in this regard but Minifigures aren't yet?

Parts works the same way. I just had an order select a thin shipping method even
though it had a chunky part. There are no dimensions in the catalog for that
part.
Really poor programming. (or design, or testing - not sure where the failure
happened)

For some reason, many 0,0,0 dimensions got entered into the catalog system at
the beginning, and maybe some are still "happening" that way. In the third phase
of Packing Dimensions - (which should be starting pretty soon) we will go through
the data and fix this problem.

In the case the part was and it appears to have blank dimensions. They
show as a question mark on the catalog page, not 0,0,0.
Unless the catalog page is programmed to show 0,0,0 dimension as a question mark.

In this case it is because the Packing Type is set to Weight instead of Volume.
I have just changed it to Volume, and we'll need to adjust the catalog page
to show (V) even if there are no dimensions in the fields.

Agreed. Having said that, once upon a time minifigs were getting a stealth packing
dimension applied to them. Duplo figs were getting a different stealth size (or
volume) than regular minifigs. Presumably Technic figs would be different still.
I think it was something that was hard-coded back when IC was first being developed.
I know I did a bunch of test cases to determine how many otherwise non-dimensional
minifigs would fit into various small packages, to figure out what the stealth
dimensions (or volumes) actually are. I'll dig around and see if I have any
notes about that.
