Bricklink shouldn't give sellers the option to not selling to zero FB
users (= new welcoming buyers).
I don't think that LEGO.com requires that a new buyer has to prove he/she
is trustworthy.

| I agree with you. I believe this is a remnant from the time where BL didn't
provide onsite payment and so all non-PayPal transactions were riskier. It also
puts an unduly weight on feedback.

There is no direct option to prohibit new buyers on BL. There are two options:
1. To force new buyers to choose an IC method. This can be used by sellers without
IC methods enabled to prohibit new buyers.
2. Prohibit buyers with negative feedback from purchasing. This restriction I
understand.
Related to the forum message you linked too, that was most likely in the store's
personal terms, not a BL option at all. Whether BL should regulate such terms,
that's debatable.

| Ah, right, thanks, I confused with the store setting for negative feedback.
Nevertheless, BL already regulates store terms, it isn't completely outside
of the realm of what they could enforce.

If a seller wishes to turn away a potential buyer so be it. There are many other
sellers who would be happy to have the business.

This is LEGO's policy, which is shared by most of the sellers here. LEGO.com
also doesn't have lot limits, minimum purchase requirements or hidden fees.

+1, my largest $ value order of all time came from a 0 FB user.
I'm sure it's rare, but it's still not a great CXP (customer experience)
for the site as a whole to get turned away as a new user and having to search
harder for a shop that will sell to you.

Maybe it's time to resurrect the idea that if a seller cancels feedback unilaterally,
he or she can't leave feedback for the buyer. Then a buyer to whom this sort
of thing happened could simply leave negative feedback without fear of reprisal.

What kind of seller has that in their terms?? This is a pretty big red flag to
me, I'll take all the 0 feedback buyers they will not! Plus I wouldn't
buy from a seller with this stipulation, seem to me like one of those sellers
that thinks they are doing you the favor of selling you their parts.

Terrible shopping experience for new users, and selfish behaviour of the seller,
making other sellers do the "dirty work" for them.
Reason #875 why Bricklink should for once show some leadership and write fixed
terms for ALL sellers, rather than giving sellers a free pass blank space where
they can do whatever they like... my opinion anyway.

From the top of my head, it was losing an hour of work because a seller cancels
your order because you had more than the maximum allowed percentage of lots with
a certain tag.
Or maybe it was receiving a bunch of used parts instead of new because in the
seller's opinion "new" just means that the parts aren't very old yet..

I have said it before: No one should be allowed to buy or sell until they have

Where is this option located anyway? I have been looking but can't find it.
I did find this one though:
Disallow members with negative feedback score to buy from my store
But then it has to be -1 or more, not zero feedback...

There is no such option. It was in a seller's store terms.

But, like most meme's, it gathers a life of it's own, and will generate
hundreds of posts, involving much gnashing of teeth combined with righteous indignation
(and darn little about the facts).
