OK, so I am selling 3 items, all Simpsons minifigure sets in one listing and
Simpsons House, and Kick-E-Mart. I priced lower than any other seller in the
USA. Bricks are perfect except for a little dust. Built one time, taken apart
one time. Everything like new. First person interested in the house wanted
to know if all the minifigures were there. I did say complete. Then extra pictures,
ok its in a box. Then how much postage? Good question and close to Texas, $45.
This is an oversize box and about 10 pounds. Prospect buyer said I do not want
to get stuck with a big bill for shipping, never mind. That's fine. What
did he expect me to do, pay postage, especially after I listed the postage was
going to be high.
Then someone bought Kwik-E-Mark. I put in postage, not scary shipping and not
hear nothing from him and I will have to do a NPB (How long do I need to wait?)

Also, several questions about completeness of the minifigure sets listed as complete.
Actual picture of what I am selling and someone asked are all the black plates
there.

Selling is hard. My hats is off to all the sellers here if they go through all
that I have with no results.

There is a reason I don't sell. However, seeing what you have the Simpson
house listed for makes me wonder if I should sell mine, I don't even really
like that set. My niece built it, she liked it. I don't even remember why
I bought it, but possibly for some pieces I envisioned in something else I wanted
to build.

When buying an expensive set, for the sake of collecting, asking for pictures
makes sense.
When not sure what a seller means by "high" asking for the postage cost makes
sense as well.

Throwing that one in my face. I deserve it. Selling Simpsons things is very
different than selling Lego. The buyers are so very different.

Not unusual for higher value sets. If you are pricing it lower than any seller
in the US without adjusting for condition and completeness you may be leaving
money on the table. Another good resource are the sold listings on that auction
site.

It's hard to sell sets on BL because you are limited to one photo. Take a
bunch of photos with close-ups of the box at all angles, the instructions, minifigs,
any stickered/printed pieces and glass pieeces. Write "Photos available upon
request" or something to that effect and have them at the ready to send to anyone
who asks.

Also, add answers to questions to your description. I would literally write "All
minifigures and accesories included. Baseplates are all included and in excellent
condition." Assume nothing, write it all out.

Then how much postage? Good question and close to Texas, $45.
This is an oversize box and about 10 pounds. Prospect buyer said I do not want

The postage is what it is. You're going to get dopey buyers, don't worry
about them. Don't forget to calculate the postage DIMM as well as weight.
DIMM is the dimensional weight (L x W x H). You pay the higher of the DIMM or
the weight. You might do better with UPS vs USPS for a box of that size and weight.

Then someone bought Kwik-E-Mark. I put in postage, not scary shipping and not
hear nothing from him and I will have to do a NPB (How long do I need to wait?)

5 days (it used to be 7). Ping the buyer on the 3rd day, then open and the NPB.

Also, several questions about completeness of the minifigure sets listed as complete.
Actual picture of what I am selling and someone asked are all the black plates

The black plates? That's an odd question.

Patience

BL is structured around selling pieces, not sets. That makes selling sets harder
than selling pieces.

Count me as confused about how you have 3,000 orders, but seem like you've
never sold anything on here.

Look at the dates though. This place has changed a lot in the last decade.

I sold my collection in 2010. Over 8200+ sets in boxes and an extra 820,000+
parts. Got close to half a million for the collection and it took two and a
half years. If you see my feedback I did not cut corners and was very successful.
Only one negative for buying, not selling. Close to 11,243 (old count) without
a negative, buying or selling on ebay. I had so many rare sets and parts.
But now I will be 74 in a couple of weeks, and the whole site is different; not
totally changed, but differences. Also, with 3 things to sell I do not have
any sort of learning curve. It is more like a freshly plowed field. I do great
on ebay, but I am in the middle of selling my Simpsons collection so that way
to do things interferes with what I need to do here.
It might look like I never sold anything here, but that was ten years ago. Besides,
I am stupid.

82 freeken hundred sets!?! Wow, that is a lot of freeken sets to sell especially
in just 2 1/2 years (excuse my language).

Do you mind if I ask what kind of stuff you sell on eBay?

Jim.

Hi
How are you guys doing? I am selling my Simpsons collection. There are so many
items. Hawthorne and Hamilton and Bradford collectables, Kidrobot, Playmates
talking figures, Qee, and play sets. There are things like train cards, toasters,
cookie makers, talking can openers, plates, and Simpsons condoms. And a whole
bunch of garbage. Only 4200 different items.
8200 lego sets was supposed to be a good beginning in my collecting Lego, but
decided to stop collecting those because of family considerations.

https://brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=332688

Don't forget trying to sell 820,000 parts. That was a trip.

(I was getting a box to ship an order and came across a box with an envelope
on it. I hadn't noticed it when I unpacked the box. Thank you for the sentiments
and I am sorry I did not notice it. I usually am more interested in what is
in the box than other things. Remember it is far better to receive than give.)

To manage expectations selling LEGO, I gave myself some leeway:
- I don't need to sell LEGO to live
- I only add parts manually (except for Light Gray and Dark Gray, please take
them off my hands) to control how big my store becomes
- I only do invoice since I don't have that big of a volume that I can accurately
estimate shipping for Instant Checkout
- As a result, it's fine if someone doesn't pay, besides it only happened
once to me in little over 50 orders since January
- I set my prices low to get product moving, but not too low. My rule is to take
10% off the third cheapest price for the same condition in North America. It
regularly places me in the top 10 cheapest in the same region, and at the same
time I respect the time I put into it even if it just is a hobby for me.

Mine is not a hobby, just not interested in Simpsons anymore as it was talking

I hear you, I'm selling for the same reason as you, it would take over my
house if I let it. My hobby is sorting bulk LEGO back into full sets, not selling
although it has become necessary to keep doing the hobby part.

I know the feeling. We don't do used sets (yet), but got plenty inquiries

won't led to sales.

I have found that most of my sales issues (repeated questions, discount requests,
confused new buyers and NPB's) all pertain to sets and complete minifigs.
For a period of time when I had none of those listed and instead parted everything
out as a rule, my store was blissfully free of issues.

I had one Star Wars fig that was ordered 3 different times without ever being
shipped before I gave up and parted the dang thing out for a bit less. Worth
it!

People who buy only parts seem to already know what they are doing!

did he expect me to do, pay postage, especially after I listed the postage was
going to be high.

Wondering if it’s more of and issue when selling used LEGO, we rarely get those
requests for condition or pictures unless it’s a sealed box and the buyers really
cares about the condition of the box.
Definitely agree with the notion that many people are underestimating how hard
it is; we regularly see new sellers post on Instagram pictures of the sets they
purchased and a screenshot of the part out value and claiming they quadrupled
their money (before they even opened the sets to start selling).
Good luck

Thank you.
Actually I am not in a hurry, these are just a part of my Simpsons collection
and I have 450 more listings to sell of non-Lego things.
This just seems to be the place to sell Lego. The commission rate is so much
better here. Dan was not greedy.
