Any suggestions on how to safely remove clear packing tape from a Lego box? A
seller sent me an open box item and thought it okay to seal the Lego box itself
with clear packing tape. I cut it to open the box, but can't seem to remove
the tape without starting to peel the box art off. I know I can't really
use a liquid, but as crazy as it sounds, perhaps a hairdryer (LOL)? Thanks!

The only thing I can think of that might work is putting the box in the freezer
and seeing if the tape will come off when the whole thing is frozen.

I found the post that made me think of that.

Not sure how wax coated cardboard will fare, but it apparently works on hard
plastic.

Might have to keep that in mind for some future lego parts with misaligned old
stickers.

A hairdryer works very well. It blows the box around a bit so it's easier
if someone helps you. There is usually a residue of the tape, though, which can
be removed with goo gone. Try it on something you don't care about first,
though, to see how you like it.
