| Hey everyone,
I am after some advice - I have recently bought 17kg of used Lego and can already
see lots of potential sets.
I might keep some sets, but generally will sell most of it.
I am currently thinking of picking out the stickered/printed elements to work
out what sets could be there, but wanted to know a good next step.
Option 1
- Sort all of the Lego into general types
- Choose a set and start to find the parts to complete the set as much as possible.
- Complete and sell the sets
- Repeat until there is just loose Lego to sell.
Option 2
- Choose a set and start to complete it...from all 17kg (This suddenly seems
stupid)
- Complete sets until there is only loose Lego to sell.
Option 3
- Sort all of the Lego into parts.
- Don't bother to find the sets and just put all of the parts into my Store
inventory loose.
Finally...
Does anyone know if there is a way of searching your inventory for complete sets.
Or even better, to tell you how far you're off from completing any sets...
I think I know the answer.
thanks in advance

If it's desirable sets that have value and you want to keep for yourself,
then OPTION 1 is the way to go. I have done this before. I once bought 2 large
lots that had a venator and a 6211 star destroyer ( neither of which i owned
before ). The remaining parts after sold paid for both lots.
But instead of sorting into general types, I sorted everything down to unique
lots. This way you can find the parts for your sets faster and upload excess
lots faster as well.
Good luck!

| Option 4. Identify any sets you can first from the printed parts / minifigs.
Look up their value before doing any other sorting. If not worth your time, then
sell the lot as bulk.

| If you add all your parts to your inventory, then you can export them from bricklink
and import them to rebrickable. Rebrickable will tell how many parts your missing
from each set.
The sets from bulk lots always miss some parts. Luckily bricklink is here for
you, so you'll eventually find all missing parts.

| Thank you for the replies.
I think looking at the sets by value is definitely useful plus seeing if the
minifigs are there is a good shout.
I never knew about rebrickable, which sounds perfect. I think between that and
brickstock it might be easier to just upload all parts and then set it out if
needs be.
Thanks all!
