Hi there!

I noticed that I didn't get any orders for 2 weeks already, so I tested to
buy from my store with another browser where I'm not logged in.

I tried Chrome and FireFox, both show the same isse:
If you put something in the basket (more than EUR 10,-) and click on checkout,
you get to the shopping cart, but in the "Order summary" there is an animation
that doesn't stop and I also can't click on "Next" or anything.

Can somebody help please?

Thanks!

Kind regards,
Michael

Ok, everything fine. Turns out that this only happens if are not signed in. A
notification would be nice, instead of an animation that keeps there forever
and says nothing! After creating a fake account, I'm able to proceed to the
next step (well, I assume so, it only displays "your email address is not confirmed
yet", but I did this already ...).

So I guess everything is correct with my store and it's just vacation season?

Just a continuation, I tried to look through your store and your terms state
that you ship to the USA, but I am unable to purchase (testing). I would assume
that it is because you don't have Paypal onsite payment enabled. This might
be part of your lack of orders.

Yes - and I'm assuming that would affect orders where BrickLink has to collect
VAT as well.

I still don't get this whole VAT thing - I thought I don't have to do
anything as long as I'm under EUR 10.000,- (annual sold items)? I'm faaar

I don't know whether you have to do anything, but for international orders
under 150 euro or 135(?) pounds sterling BrickLink has to collect VAT

Oh, thanks for the information!

I've enabled it now (never activated it until now, but had orders from USA).
Can you do me a favor and try again please? Thanks!

Michael

Yup, you are good to go now. There are a few US states that do not collect sales
tax, so you could have received orders from them, but the majority do, so that
would have been a gap.

As was mentioned in another post, this also affects EU orders were VAT is involved.
Just a different piece that you don't have to worry about but any seller
in those locations has to pay it and BL is using Paypal as the purchasing method
to collect those fees.

Hopefully this helps bring the orders back in. Good luck.

So in some regions you are forced to use PayPal Onsite and don't even see
my other payment methods (like PayPal Offline or IBAN)?

Kind regards,
Michael

Exactly right. Stripe would work as well.

Correct. BL is forcing some regions to us Onsite payment methods so that they
can track and collect the necessary taxes and VAT fees. We can only see the
payment options that allow this collection and if there are none (like you missing
Paypal onsite) then it shows as not able to ship to me (red square). Even if
you currently accept Paypal, but didn't enable the onsite option, it's
a no go. There have been many many many threads over the last year plus during
this that people have been questioning it and it's typically the number one
thing. Either way, you are good to go now.

Great, thanks for the explanation! I don't read the forum regularly, maybe
something I should change
