| Good Day All, A new buyer placed an order 2 days ago and it has been showing
paid but with an Orange Exclamation Mark.
We are instant checkout only and we have not seen this on any order prior to
this?
No funds have been transferred and neither us or the buyer are able to cancel
the order, as we both agreed to cancel order and then buyer is going to try again.
The only help we could find on system was that the exclamation Mark was due to
an E cheque payment? We have not had this before so any help or advice as to
what this is would be much appreciated.
Many Thanks.

It could well be an echeque payment. The buyer thinks they have paid and the
seller thinks they haven't been paid. I think you will need to wait for clearance.
I wouldn't cancel it just yet.

Paypal's echeque is (often) when the buyer has no funds in their account,
so PayPal has to request money from their linked bank account via a direct debit
type transaction. If the bank account has no funds either, the payment can fail.

Ah I see, the buyer has not replied with regards to available funds. How do I
go about cancelling the order I am not familiar with cancellation and I can't
seem to find that option any where? (Never had to cancel an order)
Thanks Again

I'd recommend waiting it out. I'm not sure there's an easy way to
cancel this because PayPal has already made the funds request to the buyer's
bank. This can take a while though - I think it's up to 7 business days or
so. If you find the PayPal transaction, usually it'll have some kind of note
about when it might "clear". I've only had this happen once and the buyer
was a regular. When they contacted PayPal they also just had to wait it out.

Hello,
I had this couple times when paying (as a buyer) with Paypal onsite payment.
It occurred specifically when purchasing from stores in the UK in cases where
the payment was in GBP which then involved a currency conversion (my Paypal is
in EUR). In these cases the seller had to approve / accept my payment in Paypal.
Only then the payment went through and the exclamation mark disappeared.

Hi This has happened to me a several times lately - in my experience they usually
clear the very next day I did have one a while ago that took 3 days though -
I've never had a problem with these payments that have the orange exclamation
mark. If you scroll down to near the bottom of your paypal transaction page it
does tell you when they expect it to clear which is pretty much always not right
and it clears the day after they say it will. I hope this helps. Kind regards
Mark.
