Good afternoon

Could you let me know which billing program you use that is compatible with bricklink?
Another question is: if I sell €100 to another European country, will I pay the
vat of the country of destination and will I still have to pay the VAT in my
country or not?
Thanks in advance

I don’t think there is one: you need to do everything yourself (either manually
or with programs using the BL API…).

First, technically, it’s not the seller who pays VAT, it’s their buyers.  The
sellers may collect VAT….

But if you sell below 10,000€ per year to other EU country (so, not counting
your sales in Portugal, you’ll need a hundred buyers at €100), you don’t have
to register to anything.

   Thanks in advance

Then you have the choice to either:
— register for VAT in each EU country you sell to,
— or only register to the Portuguese One-Stop Shop (balcão único?) for VAT.

The OSS is obviously the simplest.

To register, you’ll need an EU VAT number.  Your Chamber of Commerce should be
able to give you one.

Once you’re registered to the OSS, you’ll need to collect VAT from your EU buyers,
you’ll need to report your EU sales on the OSS website and remit the VAT you
collected (= give the VAT money) every quarter (3 months).

Now, as far I understand it, having a VAT number and having to collect in other
EU countries shouldn’t force you to collect VAT in your own country too (if you’re
still under your country’s VAT threshold)… but in order to collect VAT from your
EU buyers, BL wants you to activate VAT in your shop, so you’ll have to collect
VAT in Portugal too.
That may mean more than asking for a VAT number, it may mean changing your business
status.

In short: You should ask your Chamber of Commerce.

how can i see how much i sell to europe?

Download your sales and calculate?

You can change the date to download older orders.
You won’t have the details but the countries and amounts should be there.

Already answered: I don’t know of one.

I don’t know.

In the message:
“BrickLink does not assume any responsibility in terms of determining or notifying
sellers about their VAT registration obligations.”
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1294893

But later, Admin_Russell said:
“We have the data on this and will be individually contacting sellers that fall
into that category. Discovering which sellers are over the limit is a legal requirement
for us.”

Except for order item inventories, much can be gleaned from the download. Certainly
information pertinent for taxes and bookkeeping, in most cases: https://www.bricklink.com/orderExcel.asp

For both orders received and placed, in perpetuity from your first transaction.

IMO it's best to do as much outside of BL as possible. I simply take Bricklink
as a hatch that gives me money and a list of parts, that's all. I don't
use Bricklink's calculations or invoices at all. I just take the order
and process everything myself. You'll need your own / third party software
or some other system (Excell?) to do that. If you rely on Bricklink you'll
never know when you run into problems because Bricklink doesn't always understand
what it's like being a seller in the EU. You'll probably be obligated
to keep tax records for several years, so it's best to just have your own
offline administration for this, outside of Bricklink. Just my 2 cents.

Hi DarioCruz,

Maybe my app can help you, it can show you how much you sold in the past year
to countries inside the EU (excluding your own).

https://inspacesoftware.com/blsmanager/

It doesn't do billing yet but I might add that in the future.

Note: for the stats to be correct the app has to download order details for the
past year, this might take a bit (they will turn from beige to white).

Let me know if you need any help.

Kind regards,
Erwin
