A strong name in the line of the Alexanders that ruled Russia in the first half
of the 1800s. Or, one could invoke the young Macedonian we all are familiar with?
Nah, I think the first Alexander of Russia 
A good strong name, nonetheless

When choosing a name, we paid attention to the names of Russian rulers and patron
saints (we named our first son Pavel (Paul, in english)). And, of course, everyone
knows Macedonian)

I like how you’ve chosen your sons' names. Intended or not, it’s another
way to strengthen culture and traditions therein. Sons should be given good strong
names to try and live up to, I feel.
The name we gave our daughter is that of a particularly tough and resilient desert
plant with the sweetest smelling, delicate flowers. My son’s given name was derived
from the old language of my mother’s people, meaning “God send”
No historical significance to either that we know of, though.

In Russian culture, there is also a name meaning “God send”.
The birth of a child and the name mean a lot to his parents. And it is often
the meaning of life for them. Thank you for not staying indifferent to my happiness!
