What would you recommend I do? I listed a head and someone has it in an order
(paid). I have discovered that I misidentified the head - it is exactly the same
except it is a hollow stud and not blocked open stud. I have sent three messages
to the buyer but there's been no response. Should I refund the head and send
the rest of the order or send the head and hope that it doesn't make that
much difference to him. If it does make a difference I would have to refund the
cost of the head if he complained and then I'm out $3.00. If it makes no
difference to him then I have lost a sale...

In this situation, I would probably send the head and give the buyer a
refund. That way, if the buyer wants the head, they have it, and if they don't
want the head, they have the refund. Alternatively, you could order the correct
head from another store and have it shipped directly to the buyer.

In this situation, I always message them and let them know the situation. If
no response, I send it anyway, but with a 200% credit/refund on the invoice.
If it is a super valuable piece, or makes up a majority of the value/size of
the order, that can differ. When I message them, I always give them the option
to back out, as there was a mistake made, on my end of things. I don't believe
anyone has ever taken me up on that, but rather is satisfied with the credit.

Refund the head, send the order and send a message to the buyer telling them
what you did.

Correctly relist the head. It will sell.

If I received a hollow stud head instead of a blocked open stud head (of the
exact same print), I would not care one bit, and I probably wouldn't even
notice.
