| has a fig listed as its own alternate
has a blue brick and a yellow brick, with the alternate for both of them
being the blue brick
has a brick listed as its own alternate, but with one fewer
has the same thing, but with many pieces
Are these sets mis-inventoried, or is having a part being its own alternate cool?

The reply is: The alternate is for the lot not for the part itself.
It means that the set could have some or all of the lot in inventory list with
alternate ID X or some or all of the lot in the alternate list with the alternate
ID X

It’s either 2x the fig or 1x the fig and 1x another fig.

It’s either 2x blue + 2x yellow or 4 x blue.

It’s either 5x or 6x. Maybe that one could have been an Extra? Or are there
two versions of the box/instructions?

It’s either 4x or 5x of any of the parts.
(If there had been one version with 4x of all and one version with 5x of all,
they would share the same MID.)
Maybe they could have been in Extra?

The question is why some of them aren’t Extra?

Maybe - according to the inventory note and the change log this has never been
proven from a sealed set. And since this is a vintage Dacta Duplo set (vintage
MISB Dacta sets are rare, vintage MISB Duplo sets are rare, so you can guess
how rare a vintage MISB Dacta Duplo set is) I have some doubt it will ever be
proven.
If you ask me, the right looking figure could just be a misprint and could have
been included in other sets also.

Yes. If the set would come with instructions, we would maybe call this a redesign
and list the alternate parts with match ID 99.

None of the sets mentioned here have instructions.
It seems the quantity of five for the black brick 2x2 has been found in a sealed
set. However, that seems strange as there are six of those parts in other colors.
Maybe the missing black brick was just a production error.

Here my guess would be there are indeed different box versions showing different
inventories (therefore the additional parts are not extras). But yes, if that
is the case the alternate parts should share the same MID.
