Hi,

lately I'm having some problems with selling LBG parts. I believe they are
(discolered) LBG, but the buyer thinks it's LG. I send the buyer the parts
again in LBG free of charge, so this should be solved. But the difference between
discolored LBG and LG parts is sometimes very minor.

An good example is 2x 6192 I have. If you see them in a pile of LBG, they do
not seem LBG at all, more LG. They blend in nice in a pile of LG. However this
parts does not exist in LG in a set according to bricklink.
This part is being sold for €.10 to €.20 in LBG and €6 to €8 in LG.

How do I put this part for sale?
How can I you tell the difference between (discolered) LBG and LG?

You get this a lot with LBG, it looks a bit washed out and almost light grey
(but is LBG). With these parts, if they are very noticeable I create a new lot
and keep them separate and then in the notes just say that these parts are a
little washed out and almost resemble the older light greycolour. I don't
think it is so much discolouration but rather just the material used at certain
times / plants.

If we are unsure about _any_ part (color-wise, or condition), we simply don't
list it. This doesn't just apply to cheap parts - we have these as well,
but they are scratched.

Part No: 3308  Name: Arch 1 x 8 x 2
*
3308 Arch 1 x 8 x 2
Parts: Arch {Dark Blue}
We could list those, but chances are buyer won't see the comments.

You need a color board. With valid examples of each color. If it does not match
to either LG or LBG, then you withhold it, or list it under NA with a note saying
exactly what you're seeing.

Like most lego colors there are different shades of LBG. Early versions of LBG
are a little bit lighter in color then the modern version that you know. It takes
time and experience to tell the difference between the early version and light
grey. You will find the same problem with the pearl gold color...one version
is much darker then the other...but they are both pearl gold and the same is
true with LBG. You should state in your store terms that there are color variations
in used parts.
