| I recently sold several mini figures with the head gear 30177. Four Black and
one Dark Gray.
The Buyer contacted me and said the headgear were not Lego. He mailed all
of the mini figures back and the head gear only had large numbers in the center.
We could not find and printing around the edge like on others. We refunded
him for all of the parts plus shipping.
So now I ordered the same head gear from another store and when they arrived
it was the same situation no markings only large numbers in the center.
Does anyone know if these are real Lego or knock offs?

| Is your buyer relatively new? There have been stories where people new to Lego
don't realize that not all Lego parts have 'Lego' molded on them.
Many older Lego pieces are like you described

| I myself am not new to Lego and I never noticed this before. Usually it is easy
to tell when they are not real. This particular heard gear has very small printing
around the lip inside it is a number and the word Lego. I have this on some
of mine. Also these head gear are very loose.

| I just got in a bunch of old castle Lego sets in including Stone Tower Bridge
& Flying Ninja's Fortress, which both have CAS048 & CAS049 in them. I know
these are legit Lego since they are complete sets and there wasn't a single
knockoff part in the 20 sets I bought. None of the helmets are stamped Lego,
just the number in the stud hole.

They're just old (relatively) - I have some of these that are loose as well.
It's only very recently that you'll see the very small Lego logos - many
smaller pieces don't have the logo at all.
