So I'm adding a bunch of used brick to my BL store, and i noticed that all
my brick seem to have 2 different center stud holders. Is there a difference
between the 2? Should I be listing them as 2 different lots? Also, which design
is the current one that LEGO makes? The photo is just for reference; I've
noticed the difference on all sizes of bricks.
Thanks!

Everything matters to someone. Most mold variations are of no interest to most
buyers. Sometimes, however, the restoration of an old set requires parts from
that era's molds. And, rarely, a builder will create something that requires
one of several variations.

Many stores selling used parts include a disclaimer about this. It is very time
consuming to keep on top of all the variations out there, let alone sort them.

Got it. Thats really helpful! So you you just recommend that I put something
about it somewhere in my terms, and then add/store them all as if they were the
same?
Thanks!

For mold variations that are not visible, your proposal is a good option.

For mold variations that are visible, the part is often assigned a different
part "number" for each variation. If you see a part "number" with a letter at
the end, that is what is happening. The Bricklink notes about the part will
discuss its variations.

The different treatment reflects the generally higher importance most buyers
assign to the (sometimes minor) visual differences. Since you will not want
to offer one variant for sale and then deliver a different one, you need to pay
attention to the differences identified in the catalog when you list what you
have.

I always check to see if a part has multiple catalog entries, with minor differences,
but the slight difference in the underside of the bricks is what confused me.
Thanks again!

You don't really need a disclaimer for any parts where bricklink does not
recognise differences. If you have different underside 1x4 bricks, for example,
so long as they are not recognised variants then they all get lumped together.
If you know for sure they are a certain era or type, you can comment about this.
Unless you specifically state they are a certain type then buyers have to accept
that they could get any style that is allowed under that listing when they buy,
whether you use a disclaimer or not.
