I'm going to add some photos of a MISB set that can confirm the presence of these alternate parts.
Here below I attach the photos of a MISB set: you can clearly recognize the white
brick 3001 with cross supports; the red brick 3001 with cross supports is a bit
more hardly recognizable, but it is there.
