I "accidentally" won an auction lot for 51 lbs on another site.

I threw out a low bid and didn't expect it to actually win.

I knew if the wife saw, she'd say.... "you bought more?" ...."i thought you
were done buying".... "wah wah wah"....

I saw it out on the front step today... it must've arrived while we were
at work...

Then, she stepped into a side room....

Now's my chance.

I quickly dashed out the front door, hoisted the 51 lb box, came back inside,
and quickly scurried down the stairs to stash it inconspicuously in the man cave.

I saved myself a scolding lecture, but my back and knees did not enjoy that hustle!

You're not alone. It all sounds familiar.

You do know about Informed Delivery? Know when and what you are going to get.
Plan ahead and get her out. “Would you like to get a massage.” I have been
telling my wife for years, “I am not getting any thing new anymore.

My wife says the same thing to me -- word for word! I don't think my
wife understands how this process works.

I'll get pics up this weekend! Box is huge.
We ship 50lb boxes at work all the time, but they're mostly metal material.

50lbs of lego is pretty voluminous. Especially when trying to sneak it through
a couple doors and down a flight of stairs, oh! and over a baby gate.

You should also hope your wife doesn't read this post
The best case scenario: she locks you in your man cave and throws away the key.
Or worst case scenario: she leaves and takes half your LEGO for spite- you may
be the one saying "wah wah wah"
Good luck

Sweet, what's in it?

I quit actively sourcing, but I've bid on a couple "too good to be true no
way I'll win" auctions this month and won. After I said no more boxes would
be coming...

Sorting one right now.

He's giving me the stink eye.

Sorting one right now.

He's giving me the stink eye.

1st picture: The person selling it had a series of pics showing them filling
the box and they used the first pic (with the box mostly empty) as the main picture
so it appeared very overpriced to anyone who didn't click into the listing
to see the rest.

2nd picture: I bid on it based solely on seeing an LOTR cave troll in one of
the pics.

Hoping there are more lotr figures in there, looks like some star wars and hp.

LOL! The stink eye! YASSS! I get that when I disappear downstairs every evening
for a few weeks to sort huge lots, eager to list, and start generating revenue
to keep the cycle going.

Omg I look for these too. My very best finds are always these type of auctions.
I won a Friends lot last month like this, 40-50lbs (I forget) for seriously $40
(plus actual shipping, so it was about $80 total).

Lord of the rings and Harry potter stuff is better than gold. Congrats that looks
fun

I have a small house, so I can't really sneak anything anywhere. I'm
just extra sure to show him the pile of outgoing parcels like "see! See! its
leaving too!"

You lucky bastardo. What a great haul!!!

One of the best Lego auctions I won was about 3 months ago and it was for a 10
pound lot. In it there was a black bag filled with a about 100 collectable minifigure
sets and figs with about 70 complete sets and 30 just figures, most sets and
figs from series 9 thru 13. It was a great haul but it looks like yours blows
it away.

Those have been my highest margin lots!
Something where the seller doesn't show the figures until the 12th picture.
That's awesome that you got 100 figures in a random lot where you were expecting
just bulk!

I've got a few parcels (at least 12kg) secreted in various dark corners of
the garage having hussled back from work to get them before the wife got back
from work. I'll need to build up some brownie points before our house move

This is all too true. Every time there is a box in the front room I get the
"Is this more Lego?" I definitely don't buy the bulk I used to but sometimes
a good one shows up on Fleabay or locally and I grab it. My youngest likes
to help sort and grab Friends stuff she likes, so she gets paid, albeit cheaply.

Friends stuff in exchange for sorting labor is an extremely good deal!
My little girl turns 1 next week.
I'll have to keep that in mind as she gets older!
