I've been wondering what colours are poor sellers, I'm finding Lime a
little slow.

Any opinions on poor selling colours ?

Have to agree on lime. They seem to sell higher, but far less often. I'm
more keen on focusing on what parts sell, rather than what colour they sell in.
I have sat on some parts for several months. Also, price is a huge concern. If
there's low demand for these colours, they just will not sell at a reasonable
price.

I'm finding that there is an increasing amount of Lime in the bulk lots that
I buy.

The bright colours from these sets do seem slower and used sets seem to be unpopular
too.

What we need is some amazing Moc's by someone using these colours so that
everyone wants to copy them.

Here you go, how about Grinch. I built this Grinch after I went to go see the
movie. I am working on instructions for it.

You should add this to your custom building instructions that you are selling.

This is the last year (for a while) that I can use small pieces in my Christmas
set up. I now have a baby (my nieces baby) living in my house. But for now
she is not mobile enough that I have to worry about her choking on the pieces.

I love the simple design of the snow covered trees and snow patches. As usual,

This is just my .02.... But I believe its the lack of mom/daughter type of
buyers here on BL
. I sell the "friends colors" just fine on ebay, and friends
stuff in general. I've seen many people say friends is a poor seller here.
I think its the demographics, lets face it most AFOLs at least for now, are male.

I also noticed the more friends stuff I listed, the better those colors sold,
so it seems to attract the friends buyers, you need to have a large variety of
things. I love it when I get an order like that, they look fun.

I like the Friends line a lot, but the one thing I do not like about it is the
bright color choices. But I like the people figures better than normal mini
figures.

Interesting observation, I've not sold on eBay so far.

Just bought a load more road baseplates, large figures and part sets, amongst
the complete sets is 41101 ( used ) and a few other friends.

Best year yet for holiday finds, coming back with approx 30kg - 40kg, paid around
£5 - £6 / kg.

That is the nice thing about friends bulk lots, easy to ID things.

Nice score on those vintage road plates too, they look pretty good... those are
the type I'm collecting for a "one day" town lay out I hope to build when
I get into a larger home.

The road plates are nice, missed about 10 nice crater plates by just 5 mins,
not happy about that.

However, I'd had a similar idea regarding these plates and the hotel as yourself,
I've been putting away some of the rarer modular building pieces too.

Not thought about the roller coaster parts.

Yes! Got to love the crater plates! So many discolored ones out there too.

I haven't been able to find too much modular stuff. I have a partial cinema
and a partial Parisian restaurant, but I figure if I take some liberties with
the colors I could build some of the others. I do have the first 2, that I bought
back in the day, thankfully. So the expensive bit is out of the way already...

People seem to recognize they are valuable and they don't end up in bulk
lots.

Wellll, bright pink bricks, yes, but friends stuff like minidolls, utensils,
decorations, tiles.. those sell really well.

I just think that the reason is that there aren't a lot of builds that require
bright colours in very large amounts. Whereas grays or browns can be needed in
massive supplies when building various kinds of things.

I've bought quite a lot of 'Friends coloured parts' over the years
to build with my daughter but the problem I find with some colours is missing
parts. Having loads of roof slopes, but cannot go round corners, or having wall
building bricks, but missing important smaller ones, and so on. Missing parts
(in quantity) can affect the price of existing parts in the same colour.

Yeah.. and at the same time they're pretty valuable, at least part-out values
of Friends sets are better than of other sets. So I'm never quite sure how
much Friends I should be buying.

I reckon I bought a bit too much of those bright colours lately so now I'm
going detox by parting out 20 Apocalypseburgs
