I also got a blue
instead of the old variant. Many sets have an alternate minifigure for that, but the current guideline says the new variant should only be added as an alternate part. Has that been changed recently and what should I do?

You can add it as an alternate minifigure to the set.

No. My minifig has the old head.

We don't add alternate minifigures if the only difference is the stud type
of the head. So in this case you can add ovr037a as an alternate to the set
inventory and then I will add an inventory note to say that this minifigure has
been found with both b and c type heads.

Okay, I will do that. Maybe there should also be a note on the set inventory
to explain that this alternate minifigure only came with the b type head in this
set?
And there is another problem with this inventory: We have two alternate parts
which both have an extra part (paddle and claw). They are listed in different
ways at the moment and I don't know how to fix that. At least it is not possible
to add parts with a match ID to the extra items section (the match ID always
disappears).

This is a problem that needs to be fixed manually by us behind the scenes. If
you ever run into another situation like this, just let us know in the forum
and we will take care of it.

alternate items is a bit difficult to see in a set with so many alternates, so
I'll refer to another set that doesn't have as many. That should make
it a bit easier to see.
For part 48729b in set 7641 there is no extra in the inventory. There probably
should be, but we'd need confirmation from sealed set contents before we
can add it. Did you find 48729b in your set? And if you did, was there an extra?

For part 48729b in set 7641 there is no extra in the inventory. There probably

That is correct. Only inventories admins can do that. So if this happens in other
sets you'll have to ask us to add the match ID.
