Please make changes to the following inventory:

Set No: 138 Name: Electronic Train
*
138-1 (Inv) Electronic Train
113 Parts, 1969
Sets: Train: 4.5V

* Delete 4 Part wheel2ac02 Red Train Wheel Spoked for Motor with Light Gray Train Rim for 4.5V & 12V Locomotive Wheels (wheel2a / trainrim) (match ID 1)
* Delete 4 Part wheel2b Red Train Wheel Spoked for Wagon
* Delete 4 Part wheel2ac01 Red Train Wheel Spoked for Motor with Black Train Rim for 4.5V & 12V Locomotive Wheels (wheel2a / trainrim) (Alternate) (match ID 1)
* Add 8 Part wheel2ac01 Red Train Wheel Spoked for Motor with Black Train Rim for 4.5V & 12V Locomotive Wheels (wheel2a / trainrim)

Comments from Submitter:
similarly like in set 118. The instructions of set 138 show wheels without rims for the wagon, but the actual set always comes with 8 locomotive wheels with black rims. There are no alternates for this.

You are sure that this set never came with the gray rims? Or as sure as one can
be about such an old set?

Hi Paul,

You are sure that this set never came with the gray rims? Or as sure as one can
be about such an old set?

This is the question I always wonder, specially concerning the recent inv. change
requests I submitted:
- How can I be sure a part did never come with a particular set?
- How can I prove that to the inv. admins?

I am sure wannes_dn has checked and seen many copies (used/new) of this set but
nobody could have checked ALL copies of this set. The two sets 118 and 138 are
among his favorite ones. I don't know enough to comment about this set, but
I am sure he knows a lot. I checked photos of two copies, one used and one new
that I have saved on my PC and the trainrims were black.
However, for this set, one thing we can do is to check the production date of
each used copy. If we are lucky to find one copy from early 1969, then that gives
more confidence, but this set is very hard-to-find.

Can you share your prove for change requests?

For me changing request with only prove of "I saw a lot of XXX," is not a prove.
I have a lot of 1x2 brick, Am I an expert of 1x2 brick? Can I bypass prove for
requesting inventory change of every sets with 1x2 bricks?

For me you are making a black hole on inventory doing change without "physical"
prove.

The same as in the past when people did make/change inventories without prove.
Now we don't know if people did bad change request because of lak of good
parts in catalog, or because of bad knowledge of set.

As SezaR say, we can't check all sets to know if the set ever come with gray
rims. (as example).
But when people are asking to add gray rims, we can ask a prove to be sure.

-Fred

In the past, Admins were more strict with change requests:

Hi Fred,

As SezaR say, we can't check all sets to know if the set ever come with gray
rims. (as example).
But when people are asking to add gray rims, we can ask a prove to be sure.

The request is not to add light gray rims, it is to "remove" light gray rims.
See

* Delete 4 Part wheel2ac02 Red Train Wheel Spoked for Motor with Light Gray Train
Rim for 4.5V & 12V Locomotive Wheels (wheel2a / trainrim) (match ID 1)
* Delete 4 Part wheel2b Red Train Wheel Spoked for Wagon
* Delete 4 Part wheel2ac01 Red Train Wheel Spoked for Motor with Black Train
Rim for 4.5V & 12V Locomotive Wheels (wheel2a / trainrim) (Alternate) (match
ID 1)
* Add 8 Part wheel2ac01 Red Train Wheel Spoked for Motor with Black
Train Rim for 4.5V & 12V Locomotive Wheels (wheel2a / trainrim)

Paul,

I need few days to check certain facts about this set and 118-1, then I can come
back with more info.

Bests,
Reza

Hello Paul,
I would not submit these requests without being 100% sure.
I attached 2 pictures of sealed sets 138. I was the owner of 1 of them.

The problem with sets 118 and 138 is that in the past Their inventories where
made up based on the instructions.

It is back when the inventory was first listed that there was a lack of evidence.
There where no examples of sealed sets known back than, so logically they used
the instructions. The instructions who are not 100% accurate with the actual
content of the set.

We have never seen real evidence that set 138 was ever released with gray rims.
I am now providing evidence that the set had 8 black rims.

If we ever find evidence that this set alternately came with grey rims we can
always put grey rims back as an alternate part, but I highly doubt that will
ever happen.

Hello Paul,

Can it be completed with this evidence?

ps. I added a new wire part for set 138 to the catalog a few days ago. Do you
know how long it takes to approve this usually

thank you
