I contacted the submitted of this request in 2015

He checked the parts. His copy should be from 1986 (or later?). Interesting that
the white cone is not 3942b but 3942c.

I contacted the submitted of this request in 2015

He checked the parts. His copy should be from 1986 (or later?). Interesting that
the white cone is not 3942b but 3942c.

Can confirm that the provided infos and pics come from my set 
The cone with open stud can actually be seen as such in the instruction itself.
For the plate modified the box and instruction are showing the ones with the
thin ring but my set are containing the ones with the thick ring.

I don't trust the insturctions for the cones. The stud of the white cone
is not clearly visible. Similarly, my own copy 6881-1 that I own since 80s comes
with 3942a but in its instructions, the stud of the cone looks like hollowed

I checked the set in my personal collection that was built from a sealed set
and never mixed with parts from other sets. I can confirm that 3942c and 4476b
are both in my set. But I have the old version 4081a.

I bought this set a long time ago and no longer have the box and catalog. So
unfortunately I can't answer your questions.
