I think I like where you are going with this. Maybe these paper icon accents
should be categorized according to what color they are closest to on the "normal"
color spectrum of LEGO parts (the BrickLink "Solid Colors"). Then, we can describe
the "special effect" in more detail in the name of the part.
Couple of questions:
(1) What kind of surface is the one on this star? It looks holographic. Would
that be close to a better description than "special effect surface"?
(2) Have you compared this star with an ABS LEGO part that is BrickLink "Purple"
to see if it is a close match?

1) I am not sure holographic is technically correct, but I think it communicates
the issue. The overall effect is a certain color, but there are 3-4 different
shiny colors that catch light differently as you move it around. I am holding
a pink one here and as you slowly move it around there are glimpses of green
and blue.
2) I hadn't. I was just trying to differentiate a part where 2 distinct
colors were being called the same thing. It was needed for the advent calenders,
but it was very needed for 10135 which has both colors in 3 sizes. Among my
references, the one I called dark pink most closely matches magenta. The one
I call purple really does match purple best.
