| I made 2 additions to the catalog the other day (2 tiles, from https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1141099).
How long is typical for them to be approved and added? And, can I perhaps expect
a message or some other notification that "your item has been added", or similar?

I've requested two changes to listings in the past, both were approved really
quickly but I didn't get a message. If you click on "My Activity" from your
profile, you can see the requests you've made and how many have been approved.

They were already approved on Monday if you're talking about these two.

No messages are sended when item is approved. Correspondence with submitter is
only with problematic items (somtimes, firstly a note is added to pending item
in such cases - in item name like in this one for example [p=15068pb169x]) or
when they are rejected.
That is why submitters should check they "My activity page"

I didn't realize they HAD been added, as I kept searching for the numbers
I had given them as I made the addition form. I didn't know that the "approver"
would change them. That's good though!

They were needed a correction as they weren't properly numbered
