| Please make changes to the following inventory:
* Add 1 Part 3626bpb0388 Orange Minifigure, Head Pumpkin Jack O' Lantern with Vertical Lines on Back Pattern - Blocked Open Stud (Alternate)
Comments from Submitter:
The "pumpkin" head I have in my set is different from the one seen on the instruction booklet. I see other owners selling the set on eBay with the same alternative head...

The pumpkin head you are trying to add as an alternate was first released in
a LEGO game in 2009:
[g=3837]
The Harry Potter set was released in 2002.
There is absolutely no way that a part from 2009 could travel back in time to
2002 to be in a set that it could never have been in.
I am sorry, but the part in your set and the others on eBay are the wrong part
if they are not
This request will not be accepted.

Thanks, Randy, for your funny answer.
But we still have a problem as time traveling is not an option.
My son received this set in march 2003 and we never had any other set with any
sort of pumpkin head.
So, how can you explain the presence of this alternate part in our set ?
Beside, having other people with the same part switch is strange, isn't it
?
Maybe Lego changed the pattern of this part in later production and then re-used
it in a different set in 2009...

No offense meant, but I really don't think so. The part was added to BrickLink
in 2009. I find it very difficult to believe that no one in that seven year span
after the Harry Potter set was released found one in one of those sets and added
it to BrickLink before the LEGO game in 2009. Also, dual-sided, printed heads
were a *very* new thing around the 2002 time period, so it is far less likely
that they would have used a dual-sided head for the pumpkin at that time.
Having said all of that, I still tried to hunt down some more evidence. I have
literally searched hundreds of old listings from auction sites, and I did not
see one example where the pumpkin head was the one you are trying to add to the
set. I also found quite a few auctions showing sealed bags from the set, and
all of them have the pumpkin head that is included in the instructions and artwork
for the set.
What I do find much more probable is that used sets these days that are being
sold are using the newer head to finish them since the older head is not as easily
available.
I am sorry, but for a change of this magnitude, I would need to see one right
from a sealed set to believe it with my own eyes. The evidence against it being
probable are too high.
Cheers,
Randy

| You must be right.
I'll ask my sons about this mystery. Maybe they exchanged this part with
a friend...
Perhaps you can help me again : I also have this part (3626bpb0011) in yellow,
not orange.
I don't find it on Bricklink. From which set this one is coming ? Thanks.
