| As this has been a controversial topic recently, perhaps we should make it a
buyer select-able option.
Allow the buyer to choose to receive paperwork with the order, or to have the
order shipped without paperwork. The seller would then be obliged to follow the
buyer's selection.

| Why is this significant?
I print the order for pulling, so a buyer isn't getting anything extra (more
wasteful).

Because many many businesses are not giving you the option of a printed receipt
or a paperless email'ed receipt.

I voted no. If the buyer requests one from me I'll send it. Ink is expensive
and sometimes that extra paper bumps it up to the next ounce. I'd prefer
not to make a copy of a 500 lot order.

This this this.
It's already far too easy to have the buyer leave a note with the order.

| In fairness, a 500 lot order most likely is going in a box via priority mail
and not bumping you up to another oz in first class shipping weight. I like to
print them for pulling the order, and typically print 4 sheets to a page. If
the order is less than 14 lots you can just re-insert that pull sheet and print
the label on the order side.

| Voted no.
- buyers can request in comments
I have not sent a paper pick list in over 5 years, and have not had a complaint.
I pick orders using a tablet. Postage labels are printed on a Dymo and I don't
even have a plain paper printer hooked up to my computer. It just is so much
easier to use a tablet or laptop to pick orders (and check orders as a buyer).

| Voted No. Sry. I can appreciate the sentiment.
But the shipping label on the outside can get torn off, damaged or obscured.
A paper on the inside with ship from and ship to address is a safeguard. Not
common, but this did happen to me a couple of months ago. The USPS eventually
opened the box and sent it back to me because there was a printed BL invoice
on the inside.

I vote yes, as long as the seller has the option whether or not to offer a printed
invoice. As already stated, some sellers don't even have the option to offer
it.

Only if the seller has the right to refuse to add paperwork and allow them to
charge for it if a buyer wants it. If not selected by the seller, then the buyer
should not be offered paperwork. If the seller is willing to print the order
out and include it, then let them have the option. But don't force it on
all sellers.

I voted No.
I will soon pass 10.000 orders and I have never printed any of them as I find
it waste of paper, ink and extra weight to ship causing more pollution than necessary.
I pick orders from my PC placed in my storage room.
Giving buyers the option not to have printes orders will leave other buyers to
expect printed orders in the parcels/letters - a feature I will not comply with.

What's interesting about the responses here is that the sellers on BL are
a (for the most part) fiercely independent lot. They want to do it their way,
and none other. I salute you all.

We have always included the picking sheets with the order, but recently have
been using using the tablet or laptop to pick the orders so seems a waste printing
the sheets off.
We have also done this (as others have stated) as an ID within the box for possible
lost parcels.
That said, more than once this caused the postage to fall into the next band.
Since the recipient can check off against their digital order on reflection it
does seems a waste.
Therefore, we have decided to create a DL size (a third of an A4 sheet) bespoke
compliment sheet, that will have the Bricklink order ref and our return address
details.
That should satisfy everything and reduce paper and print costs.
