I've received a notice for a paypal payment on my phone about 25 minutes
ago, but here is the utterly weird thing: it is for an IC order with a proper
IC invoice number, so I can see that it is definitely a bricklink order, but
there is no order on my orders page, no IC notice e-mail in my account, no inventory
movements whatsoever and no paid/ready/pending orders for that country in my
order summary. I've logged out and logged back in, refreshed the orders page
a few times, but I still only have the payment in paypal, nothing showing in
gmail or Bricklink. WTH???? This should not be possible at all! I will understand
payments being processed after the fact, but not orders and most certainly not
inventory.

Instant checkout payment - can only be from my store page as there is no way
the buyer would see the e-mail address

Are you sure that the order number is a number that'd be consistent with
an order placed today? Otherwise it could be a payment for an old order, someone
who forgot to pay or accidentally paid a second time for whatever reason..
It doesn't sound very likely to me, but it's all I can think of..

Check that it is not stuck "In Progress"

Thanks, I forgot about those. Seems to be the exact same problem. And nothing
on pending either. I've messaged the return e-mail address in paypal, so
hopefully something will come from there.

To answer others, no manual invoices outstanding, this is not an on-site payment
since that has quietly disappeared as a feature, never had business transacted
on that e-mail address and I've still only got the BLLIVE invoice number
from paypal, no order number. And that invoice cannot be manually tracked back
to an order number as far as I know. Weird Weird Weird. Hopefully it will update
after daily maintenance at 9am my time tomorrow.

Problem, yes definitely a problem

The buyer just e-mailed me. This was an IC checkout completed on his side, payment
everything made. No record of the order on his side, no notice received, no order
number, all of the items are still in his cart, but the payment somehow went
through. Needless to say, he has been refunded, and have graciously agreed not
to use easy buy again, add the items one by one again and checkout again. He
will get some discount from me for his trouble and as a thank you for being so
decent about a site issue. Thank you all for the input.

Sorry to keep posting on this topic, but I think I may have discovered an underlying
cause of the problem in my store. You might check with your buyer to see if
this situation occurred in your case as well.

The buyer emailed me a printout of the order. There was one lot in the order
for which the customer had attempted to order a quantity exceeding the available
quantity.

There was a dialog to "Accept changes/Add to Wanted List/Update Cart/Update to
Max Avail"

The total that PayPal processed the payment for would only be correct if the
order included those pieces which exceeded the available inventory.

My hypothesis is that the system prevented the order on the basis that the quantity
ordered exceeded the quantity available. But it didn't prevent the onsite
payment process from continuing, with the total reflecting the quantity of items
requested, even when it exceeded my inventory. It looks like one layer of error
prevention worked, while another level of it failed...

I have the same problem. A buyer contacted me after failing to receive confirmation
on an order he placed this morning (prior to the maintenance).

Nothing shows up on my orders page, but I have received a payment from that buyer
through onsite PayPal. I've got the BLLIVE_CUSTOM invoice information and
all the buyer information matches what the customer contacted me with.

So he made a payment for something, through onsite PayPal. BrickLink generated
the invoice that he paid, but neither of us has received email about the order
and no order appeared on my orders page.

Sorry its no help, but I can confirm that the problem isn't limited to the
OP.

This just happened to me with 4 out of 5 orders. I was able to pay and paypal
sent payments but theres nothing in my orders section and my original carts are
still in my carts section. Nothing "in progress" or "processing" either. I
received a order in "failed status" or something like that after i pressed complete
order, but the payment still went through.

I've emailed the stores to ask if they see an order on their end.

Yeah I just submitted a ticket also and mentioned that other sellers were having
the same issue.

I just tried again after importing a saved cart back in. The seller refunded
me and i resubmitted but got the below
"Your payment was not processed.

Invalid status
We detected inconsistent status. Could be a result of concurrent or duplicated
access. Please check your order or payment status and try it again.
Order is in FAILED status."

So the seller will have to refund me a second time. And that's just 1 of
the 4 i've heard back from so far.

My first time using BL, not a good start.

I just tried again after importing a saved cart back in. The seller refunded
me and i resubmitted but got the below
"Your payment was not processed.

Invalid status
We detected inconsistent status. Could be a result of concurrent or duplicated
access. Please check your order or payment status and try it again.
Order is in FAILED status."

So the seller will have to refund me a second time. And that's just 1 of
the 4 i've heard back from so far.

My first time using BL, not a good start

Most sellers will honour your payments or refund them. Just give them time. Hypertrophy
and I were lucky enough to notice quickly. Hopefully it gets sorted by BL soon.
