As a result of changes that Bricklink have made over the last few days Brickstock
now no longer allows you to download your store inventory or orders.

This, to us is a major problem as we have had special templates created to produce
picking lists/delivery notes etc, as well as using the application to make nightly
backups.

Others have reported this as well via the forum

We have this morning 'updated the database' in Brickstock and that has
not fixed the errors seen below.

The first error is when trying to download your store's inventory, the 2nd
when you try and download an order either by date or specific order number.

Unfortunately this is more than frustrating it is a disaster

We have reported this as a matter of urgency to the author and are hoping he
can step in and resolve it quickly.

Unfortunately the changes that Bricklink development have made are probably not
reversible as it has to do with the AFOL Crowd funding they are currently promoting.
The only way to get this fixed is to contact the author - which we have already
done.

BL have no responsibility for Brickstock - probably would not understand the
code at all, even if they had a copy of it, and somehow we doubt they do. They
are 'frying bigger fish' so to speak with the current development agenda
Bricklink XP - plus they have a table load of issues here that still need fixing
- some are over 6 months old and becoming increasingly frustrating as each day
goes on - as well as the USPS issue, and German law changes.

So asking them to do anything about this is really somewhat of a waste of time
and energy. That is the reality of the situation and we need Brickstock to be
fixed more than most as all our delivery notes are produced in that. We. lie
many, many others also use it for our nightly backups as well as inventory issues.

We can still get at the catalogue but cannot get at orders or our store inventory
at all.

And all of this for a program which very few are involved with Bricklink are
the only ones who can sell the sets from their own store, which doesn't auger
well for the future.

A workaround is possible with help of BrickSync.
For those who already use it to sync BO and BL:

Type command 'blmaster on' and then 'blmaster off'

That moment a backup of your BL inventory will be saved to disk, in *.bsx format
= your shopinventory.

For now the most convenient way to secure your new data locally after BL orders
or after uploads from yourself.

Thanks for the comments - unfortunately there are an awful lot of us who do not
use Bricksync, so that option is not available. There are only a limited number
of stores who are on both platforms at present - we think it is much better for
all of us to contact the Brickstock author and show the urgency needed for this.

We can also download a copy of our inventory via Bricklink for nightly backups
- it is nowhere near as good as the Brickstock one but it does work, at present.

It's very easy to convert the BL xml to a bsx. I made a program that does
it for me (I don't use Brickstock but I use it to update my BO inventory).
I would like to help but I decided not to put it up here, as I'm really not
a good programmer and can't guarantee it will always work for everybody (I
believe it completely disregards parameters I personally don't use such as
tiered pricing, so that's bound to cause people problems).
You can convert it with a find/replace operation and maybe automate it in Excel
or with some other software..

for their businesses due to a lack of progress from BrickLink itself in developing
tools that sellers need. In fact, it would be a great thing for community rapport
if BrickLink were to take on the development of the BrickStock software and make

thread and the previous thread discussing this same issue and have made sure
that the people who need to know (the programmer's and admin) have been informed
by them if they did not already know. Now let's just hope they will address
the issue but for now we just have to wait and see.
