Hi.

This is becoming an issue, another DUPLO order sold by the instant checkout system
as a large letter.

This happened even though all the items sold had manual measurements added to
show that they were 106mm x 64mm x 35mm.

I have now had to move all my DUPLO to manual only, but this is not a great solution
if a store wants to use instant checkout.

I realise that there seems to be no other solution so really just ranting a little....

Regards
David

was the lot also changed to "volume" based?

No...

but why would I have thought that the system would have picked up on my own measurements
automatically.

Hey Bricklink 2005 called they want their code back.

Robert that was not aimed at you, Thank you for the information, this will at
least allow me to use instant checkout for my DUPLO items again.

regards
David

Yes, it is a bit of odd logic in the system. You would expect it to calculate
based on weight AND volume for all items but for the purpose of package restrictions,
the size of an individual item is only taken into account if the sku (lot) is
set to volume bound. Caught us out on some larger items at first but now we have
set all items too big for large letter to volume bound.

Hi,

How does one set a lot (or lots) to "volume based"?

Have now read how the calculation works, I'm considering setting my entire
inventory to volume based because of the problems I have with the existing system
over-estimating how much I can get in the various packing options especially
when large number of smaller pieces have been ordered.

Thanks,
Steve

I think everyone must be having that problem. Bricklink's estimations are
wildly off for me, but in my experience always to the same side: it's always
too optimstic. I have now set my package dimensions to about two thirds of what
they really can be, and for me that works so far. Since I adjusted it I'm
not having any problems.
